Background: Intramuscular adiposity, which can be reflected by muscle computed tomography (CT) attenuation, may be a marker of sarcopenia. This study aimed to investigate muscle attenuation across the life course and thresholds of muscle attenuation for evaluating low muscle quality in older adults.
Methods: This retrospective multicenter study included 9701 subjects aged 20 years and older who underwent CT lung cancer screening from 2019 to 2021 at our institutions in cohort 1.
Purpose: Diabetes is a risk factor for bone fractures. However, the association between insulin resistance and the risk of fracture has not been well studied. In the present study, we explored the association of the triglyceride glucose index as a measure of insulin resistance with the risk of vertebral fracture in older adults.

Objective: Associations between serum lipid levels and osteoporosis and sarcopenia have been reported. However, few studies have reported a link between serum lipid levels and osteosarcopenia. In the present study, we investigated the association between serum high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and osteosarcopenia.

Although triglyceride glucose (TYG) index and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) are both associated with CAC, no study has evaluated the correlation between the TYG/HDL-c ratio and CAC. In the present study, we investigated the relationships between CAC and the TYG index and the TYG/HDL-c ratio.

This study explored the validity of applying lumbar bone mineral density (LBMD) standards to thoracic vertebrae (T8-T10) for osteoporosis detection during CT lung cancer screenings. This study investigated the utility of thoracic BMD (BMD-T8-T10) for detecting osteoporosis in older persons during CT lung cancer screening.

However, few studies have shown the association between sarcopenia and hemoglobin levels in CD patients. This retrospective study aimed to explore such association in Chinese patients with CD.
