Spinel lithium manganate (LiMn2O4) is a promising cathode for aqueous lithium-ion batteries (ALIBs). However, due to Mn dissolution and the Jahn-Teller effect it suffers from fast capacity fading, insufficient rate capability, and low overcharge resistance.
