Introduction: Effective postoperative pain management remains a significant challenge due to the severe side effects of opioids and the limitations of existing analgesic delivery systems. Inflammation plays a critical role in pain exacerbation, highlighting the need for therapies that combine analgesic effects with intrinsic anti-inflammatory properties.
Methods: Herein, we develop an intrinsic anti-inflammatory nanomedicine designed to enhance pain management by integrating controlled anesthetic release with inherent anti-inflammatory activity.
Objective: To construct and validate a new thyroid imaging reporting and data system (TI-RADS) based on radiating blood flow and grayscale US features.
Materials And Methods: This study enrolled patients from 4 hospitals from January 2018 to November 2023 retrospectively and prospectively. All US features associated with malignant thyroid nodules were assessed by multivariable logistic regression to construct baseline US TI-RADS (BUS TI-RADS), which was tested with internal validation set, external validation set and prospective validation set.
Background: The contrast-enhanced US (CEUS) Bosniak classification, proposed by the European Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB) in 2020, predicts malignancy in cystic renal masses (CRMs). However, intra- and inter-rater reproducibility for CEUS features has not been well investigated.
Purpose: To explore intra- and inter-rater agreement for US features, identify confounding features, and assess the diagnostic performance of CEUS Bosniak classification.
Background: In diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), bone marrow (BM) involvement includes two types that are concordant involvement and discordant involvement. It has been reported that concordant BM involvement has a worse prognosis than discordant involvement in previous studies. However, the prognostic effects of concordant or discordant BM involvement on DLBCL still need further research.

Raddeanin A (RA), an active compound derived from this Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), demonstrates specific anticancer properties against many tumorigeneses. However, the molecular mechanism underlying its effects on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains unexplored.

Objective: To use an elastography technology and other clinical and radiological data for assessment of liver background and analyze risk factors of complications after thermal ablation in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
Methods: Demographics, laboratory analyses, and radiological characteristics were collected from all patients. Main elastography-related indicators included F index (fibrosis index), A index (inflammation index), ATT (attenuation coefficient), E (kPa), AREA (area of blue parts), and CORR (correlation).
Purpose: To evaluate the feasibility, reproducibility, and diagnostic value in biliary obstructive diseases using Fly-Thru (FT) technique.
Methods: In this single-center prospective study, patients with biliary obstruction who underwent both abdominal ultrasound and FT examinations were recruited between January 2013 and January 2023. 3D FT images (3D-FT) were reconstructed with FT volumetric data.
Aims: To develop multiple machine learning (ML) models based on the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and determine the optimal model for predicting long-term survival outcomes in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients after local ablation.
Methods: From January 2009 to December 2019, we analyzed data from 848 primary HCC patients who underwent local ablation. ML models were constructed and evaluated using the concordance index (C-index), concordance-discordance area under curve (C/D AUC), and Brier scores.
Background: The purpose of the study was to evaluate renal quality and predict posttransplant graft function using ex vivo sound touch elastography (STE).
Methods: In this prospective study, 106 donor kidneys underwent ex vivo STE examination and biopsy from March 2022 to August 2023. The mean stiffness of the superficial cortex (STE), deep cortex (STE), and medulla (STE) was obtained and synthesized into one index (STE) through the factor analysis method.
Background: The incidence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is on the rise in developing countries, and investigating the underlying mechanisms of IBD is essential for the development of targeted therapeutic interventions. Interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF7) is known to exert pro-inflammatory effects in various autoimmune diseases, yet its precise role in the development of colitis remains unclear.
Methods: We analyzed the clinical significance of IRF7 in ulcerative colitis (UC) by searching RNA-Seq databases and collecting tissue samples from clinical UC patients.
Testicular histology based on testicular biopsy is an important factor for determining appropriate testicular sperm extraction surgery and predicting sperm retrieval outcomes in patients with azoospermia. Therefore, we developed a deep learning (DL) model to establish the associations between testicular grayscale ultrasound images and testicular histology. We retrospectively included two-dimensional testicular grayscale ultrasound from patients with azoospermia (353 men with 4357 images between July 2017 and December 2021 in The First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, Guangzhou, China) to develop a DL model.

The aim is to study the value of parotid sialography for diagnosing SS, and to initially explore the method of staging SS based on the results of imaging and serological autoantibody tests.
Materials And Methods: 287 patients' clinical records were included.
Objectives: To establish a nomogram for differentiating malignant and benign focal liver lesions (FLLs) using ultrasomics features derived from contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS).
Methods: 527 patients were retrospectively enrolled. On the training cohort, ultrasomics features were extracted from CEUS and b-mode ultrasound (BUS).
The aim of this study was to evaluate the comparative effectiveness and safety profiles of generic lenvatinib mesylate capsules and the reference product in a cohort of healthy Chinese individuals. The research design consisted of a randomized, open-label trial with a single-dose regimen, 2 crossover periods, and 2 distinct phases involving participants from the Chinese population. A total of 24 individuals were enrolled in the fasting study, with an additional 27 participants included in the postmeal study.

Lymphoma-associated HLH (LA-HLH) in the elderly population is not rare, however, little has been reported regarding clinicopathological characteristics, prognostic factors, and outcomes of LA-HLH in the elderly population.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed a multicenter cohort of elderly patients with LA-HLH.

Objectives: The objective of the study was to investigate the clinical value of pelvic diameter in the evaluation of surgical difficulty and selection of the best surgical plan for exogenous cervical leiomyomas.
Materials And Methods: Sixty-five patients with exogenous cervical leiomyomas admitted to our hospital from 2012 to 2021 were enrolled. All patients underwent pelvic magnetic resonance imaging examination before surgery and received surgical treatment within 1 week.
Purpose: Posthepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) is a major cause of postoperative mortality in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. The study aimed to develop a method based on the two-dimensional shear wave elastography and clinical data to evaluate the risk of PHLF in HCC patients with chronic hepatitis B.
Methods: This multicenter study proposed a deep learning model (PHLF-Net) incorporating dual-modal ultrasound features and clinical indicators to predict the PHLF risk.
Chemotherapy and surgery remain the primary treatment modalities for cancers; however, these techniques have drawbacks, such as cancer recurrence and toxic side effects, necessitating more efficient cancer treatment strategies. Recent advancements in research and medical technology have provided novel insights and expanded our understanding of cancer development; consequently, scholars have investigated several delivery vehicles for cancer therapy to improve the efficiency of cancer treatment and patient outcomes. Herein, we summarize several types of smart therapeutic carriers and elaborate on the mechanism underlying drug delivery.
