Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a chronic progressive exacerbation of cardiopulmonary vascular disease. The patients' exercise endurance decreased progressively and the survival rate was low. Current basic therapy and targeted drug therapy can improve the quality of life (QoL) of PAH patients, but the long-term efficacy and prognosis are not good.

Methods: Patients with grade Ⅳ circular hemorrhoids who underwent modified Whitehead hemorrhoidectomy and partial hemorrhoidectomy for fourth-degree circular mixed hemorrhoids were retrospectively reviewed.
Purpose: Investigating risk factors for amputation in patients with diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) and developing a nomogram prediction model.
Methods: We gathered case data of DFU patients from five medical institutions in Anhui Province, China. Following eligibility criteria, a retrospective case-control study was performed on data from 526 patients.
Disseminated Cryptococcosis infection typically occurs in immunocompromised patients, often manifested as pneumonia or meningoencephalitis. Cases with involvement of either prostate or adrenal glands are less frequent. We describe a case of an immunocompromised 62-year-old man with new-found Idiopathic CD4 + T lymphocytopenia who presented with urinary irritation symptoms followed by headache.

M6A dynamic changes after myocardial infarction (MI), involved in the massive loss of cardiomyocytes due to hypoxia, as well as the recruitment and activation of myofibroblasts. Balanced mitochondrial fusion and fission are essential to maintain intracardiac homeostasis and reduce poststress myocardial remodeling.

In this case study, we report the clinical and virological characteristics of aseptic meningitis caused by recombinant echovirus 18 in an adult with immunocompetence. A 31-year-old woman with immunocompetence was admitted to our hospital with fever, dizziness, severe headache, nausea, and vomiting for the past 1 day and was diagnosed with viral meningitis based on the clinical manifestations and laboratory results from cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).

Red mud contains a large amount of iron oxide and therefore can be used as a source of iron base for the preparation of ZVI materials. Industrial reduction of iron oxides to prepare ZVI materials requires high temperatures resulting in high energy consumption and high costs.

Methods: This is a longitudinal cohort study and prospective cross-sectional study. Non-glaucoma Chinese subjects aged 18 years or older were enrolled.
The noble transition metal dichalcogenide palladium diselenide (PdSe) is an ideal candidate material for broad-spectrum photodetection owing to the large bandgap tunability, high mobility, low thermal conductivity, and large Seebeck coefficient. In this study, self-powered ultrabroadband PdSe photodetectors from the visible-infrared to terahertz (THz) region driven by a mutiphysical mechanism are reported. In the visible-infrared region, the photogenerated electron-hole pairs in the PdSe body are quickly separated by the built-in electric field at the metal-semiconductor interface and achieve a photoresponsivity of 28 A·W at 405 nm and 0.

Here, we utilized a structural mimicry approach to synthesize a series of dibenzothiophene analogues and evaluated their ability to inhibit Pin1 activity.

On the basis of its ferromagnetism, combined with rich electronic and optical properties, CrGeTe could be a promising candidate for optoelectronics including magnetophotonics and photodetectors. However, there are no relevant studies addressing this to date.

AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) has long been regarded as a key regulator of energy metabolism, which is recognized as a critical target for NAFLD treatment. Here we introduce a natural product, demethyleneberberine (DMB), which potentially ameliorated NAFLD by activating AMPK pathways.

Objective: To study the serotypes, antimicrobial resistance, virulence genes and molecular characteristics of Vibrio parahaemolyticus isolated from outbreaks and sporadic cases in Guangdong, 2013.
Methods: 36 Vibrio parahaemolyticus strains isolated from outbreaks and 43 strains from sporadic cases were sero-typed and tested for antimicrobial resistance. PCR was used to detect for tdh(thermostable direct hemolysin gene), trh (tdh(-) related hemolysin gene), GS-PCR and orf8 genes.
Alcohol consumption is customary in many cultures and it is a common human behavior worldwide. Binge ethanol and chronic alcohol consumption, two usual drinking patterns of human beings, produce a state of oxidative stress in liver and disturb the liver function. However, a safe and effective therapy for alcoholic liver disease in humans is still elusive.

Mitochondria have long been recognized as the key target for alcoholic liver disease (ALD). Recently, the artificial mitochondria-targeted antioxidant MitoQ has been used to treat ALD effectively in mice.
