Single dyes typically exhibit limited light absorption in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Thus, cosensitization using two or more dyes to enhance light-harvesting efficiency has been explored; however, the aggregation of dyes can adversely affect electron injection capabilities. This study focused on the design and synthesis of three dyes with a common carbazole donor for DSSCs: , , and .

However, the prevalent use of 1,2-ethanedithiol (EDT) as a hole transport layer (HTL) has limitations, such as energy level discrepancies, requisite oxidation, and intricate multilayer assembly. Organic p-type materials, lauded for their superior attributes and synthetic versatility, are now stepping forward as viable substitutes for conventional EDT HTLs.

However, the large surface area with abundant surface defects of CQDs and trap-assisted non-radiative recombination losses at the interface between CQDs and charge-transport layer limit their optoelectronic performance. To address this issue, an interface heterojunction strategy is proposed to protect the CQDs interface by incorporating a thin layer of polyethyleneimine (PEIE) to suppress trap-assisted non-radiative recombination losses.

Purpose: Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare neuroendocrine tumor of the skin, which mainly occurs in the sun exposed sites of white patients over 65 years, with a higher recurrence and metastasis rate. Clinically, MCC overlapping Bowen's disease (BD) is a very rare subtype of MCC. Few cases in the literature have been described and the management is not well defined.

The PbS CQD solar cells employing 3Ka-DBT-3Ka as the HTM achieve a peak efficiency of 11.4%, surpassing devices employing the conventional PbS-EDT HTM (8.

In this case, a 48-year-old female immunocompromised patient with a four-year history of recurrent ulcer on extremities was presented to our hospital due to aggravation of lesions 10 months before. She was initially diagnosed as infection secondary to lupus panniculitis and slightly responded to ceftazidime treatment; however, a new rash appeared on her left hip 16 days after admission, which was aggravated even under antibiotic treatment.

Its early and correct diagnosis is a big challenge for us, and without it the delay in starting effective treatment can lead to the development of encephalitis. This is a report of a case of Balamuthia mandrillaris infection in a Chinese boy, with red plaques on the nasal dorsum as the first presentation, who finally developed into fatal encephalitis.

To address this problem, herein, we introduce a fluorine-substituted small molecular material 2FBTA-1 as a bifunctional buffer layer to efficiently passivate the surface defects of perovskite and tune the energy level alignment between the perovskite/2,2',7,7'-tetrakis(,-di-(-methoxyphenyl)amino)-9,9'-spirobifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD) interface. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy shows that with the insertion of 2FBTA-1 between perovskite and Spiro-OMeTAD, the metallic Pb defects and uncoordinated Pb defects are well restricted.

The inclusion and position of the ethynyl linkage in the sensitizer molecules significantly altered the electrochemical properties of these dyes, which can fine-tune the energy levels of the dyes.

Thus far, the vast majority of polymeric HTMs feature structurally complicated benzo[1,2-:4,5-']dithiophene (BDT) analogs and electron-withdrawing heterocycles, forming a strong donor-acceptor (D-A) structure. Herein, a new class of phenanthrocarbazole ()-based polymeric HTMs (, , and ) has been synthesized by inserting a unit into a polymeric thiophene or selenophene chain with the aim of enhancing the π-π stacking of adjacent polymer chains and also to efficiently interact with the perovskite surface through the broad and planar conjugated backbone of the .

As fluorine substituents are usually strong electron-withdrawing groups, introducing two fluorine atoms into BT was expected to strengthen the electron-withdrawing ability of the auxiliary acceptor, resulting in DSSCs with a broader light capture region and further improved power conversion efficiency (PCE). Fluorine is the smallest electron-withdrawing group with an induction effect, but can also act as an electron-donating group owing to its conjugation effect.

The aberrant highly expressed T-cell factor 4 (TCF4) has been determined to be closely connected with carcinogenesis of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) in previous studies. However, the underlying regulatory network and the potential therapeutic targets of TCF4 in SCC are still not fully understood. In this study, the highly expressed TCF4 was observed in human cSCC cancer compared to the paired adjacent tissues.

However, the utilization of expensive hole transport materials (HTMs) and the inevitable instability instigated by the deliquescent dopants represent major concerns hindering further commercialization. Here, a series of low-cost, conjugated polymers are designed and applied as dopant-free HTMs in PSCs, featuring tuned energy levels, good temperature and humidity resistivity, and excellent photoelectric properties.

The identification of an efficient and stable redox mediator is of paramount importance for commercialization of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). Herein, we report a new class of copper complexes containing diamine-dipyridine tetradentate ligands (L1 = N, N'-dibenzyl- N, N'-bis(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethylenediamine; L2 = N, N'-dibenzyl- N, N'-bis(6-methylpyridin-2-ylmethyl)ethylenediamine) as redox mediators in DSCs. Devices constructed with [Cu(L2)] redox couple afford an impressive power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 9.

The fabrication of the PEDOT film only involved a very simple in-situ solid-state polymerisation step from a monomer 2,5-dibromo-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (DBEDOT) made from a commercially available and cheap starting material. The ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS) demonstrated that the as-prepared PEDOT film possesses the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy level of -5.
