Article Synopsis
  • CAG repeats are variable nucleotide sequences in the androgen receptor gene that may influence male infertility, but previous studies have shown mixed results on their association.
  • An updated meta-analysis reviewed data from 40 studies, involving over 7,000 participants, and found that longer CAG repeat lengths were statistically linked to higher instances of male infertility.
  • The study noted that this association was primarily significant in Caucasian populations, while no difference was seen for those with azoospermia and severe oligozoospermia.
