Protein-nanoparticle interactions play a crucial role in both biomedical applications and the biosafety assessment of nanomaterials. Here, we found that nanobodies can induce citrate-capped gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to aggregate into large clusters. Subsequently, we explored the mechanism behind this aggregation and proposed the "gold nucleation mechanism" to explain this phenomenon.

Therefore, nanozymes with multiple properties that generate ROS and further GSH-depletion functions would be of great benefit to improve antimicrobial efficacy. Herein, focusing on the green, safe and abundant functional prospects of metal-phenolic networks (MPNs) and the strong prospect of biomedical applications, we have synthesized copper tannic acid (CuTA) nanozymes with dual functional properties similar to peroxidase-like activity and GSH depletion.
