Research Progress and Production Status of Edible Insects as Food in China.

Based on the background of the exacerbating food shortage in the world, it is particularly important to diversify food resources in every possible direction. Among the choices available, edible insects have become an important alternative source of animal food with their high nutritional and functional (pharmacological) values, partially replacing normally consumed animal and livestock protein food sources. The utilization of edible insects has been an ancient custom since the dawn of civilization, attributed to their rich nutrition, alternate protein source, medicinal values, and presence of diverse secondary metabolites and alkaloids.

The effect of psychological distance on intertemporal choice of the reward processing: an eye-tracking investigation.

This study employed eye-tracking technology to investigate how varying dimensions of psychological distance-temporal, probability, and social-affect intertemporal choice. Across three experiments, participants were asked to select between two intertemporal options while their eye movements were monitored. Findings revealed inconsistent impacts of different psychological distances on intertemporal decision-making.

Body Mass Index Affects Delayed Chemotherapy-induced Vomiting in Pediatric Malignancy Patients.

Background: Delayed chemotherapy-induced vomiting (DCIV) is a problem for children undergoing chemotherapy for malignant tumors. The aim of this study was to investigate the association between body mass index (BMI) and DCIV in children.

Aggressive behavior, boredom, and protective factors among college students during closed-off management of the COVID-19 pandemic in China.

Background: Chinese colleges have implemented strict closed-off management in response to the outbreak of a new variant of the new coronavirus, Omicron. But such management measures may lead to more aggressive behavior. The study aimed to determine the associations between boredom and aggressive behavior with aggression and to examine the impact of boredom on aggression through the moderating role of cognitive flexibility.
