We sought to examine the relationships of kidney function with dementia and plasma biomarkers in a Chinese rural population.
Methods: This population-based study used data from the baseline examination of the Multimodal Interventions to Delay Dementia and Disability in rural China (MIND-China) cohort (March-September 2018; n = 5715).
Aflatoxin G (AFG) is a mycotoxin commonly found in agricultural products, including dried fruits, meat, and milk products. Oral AFG administration induced tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α-dependent chronic pulmonary inflammation, promoting AFG-induced damage in alveolar epithelial cell, which is associated with lung adenocarcinoma. Pulmonary macrophages may be divided into tissue-resident alveolar macrophages (TRAMs) and monocyte-derived macrophages (MoMs), which involve in chronic lung inflammation.

To investigate the effect of exogenous abscisic acid (ABA) on the physiological metabolism and yield resistance of adzuki bean under low-temperature stress, we conducted a potted experiment using Longxiaodou 4 (LXD 4) and Tianjinhong (TJH) as test materials and pre-sprayed with exogenous ABA at flowering stage continuously for 5 days with an average of 12°C and an average of 15°C, respectively. We found that, compared with spraying water, foliar spraying exogenous ABA increased the activities of antioxidants and the content of non-enzymatic antioxidants, effectively inhibited the increase of malondialdehyde (MDA), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) content, O2-· production rate.

Methods: This population-based study used baseline data from MIND-China (2018; n = 4873) and follow-up data from dementia-free individuals (2014-2018; n = 2117). We measured AD-related plasma biomarkers in a subsample (n = 1256).
We demonstrate a gas-filled multipass cell (MPC) that cleaned the spatial mode of a spatial-filter-free 250 W, 100 kHz, 445 fs driven source based on an Innoslab amplifier and compressed the pulse duration to 41 fs simultaneously. The multipass cell acted as a spatial filter and benefited from its discrete waveguide nature, in which the input beam quality factor M was improved from 1.53 to a near-diffraction-limited value of 1.

Methods: This population-based study included 5704 older adults. Of these, data were available in 1439 persons for plasma amyloid-β (Aβ), total tau, and neurofilament light chain (NfL) and in 1809 persons for serum cytokines.
Background: With the increasing incidence of obesity and the childbearing-age delay among women, a debate over obesity's impacts on pregnancy and neonatal outcomes becomes hot. The potential negative effects of obesity and aging on fertility lead to an idea, whether an obese female pursuing IVF treatment can benefit from an ideal BMI achieved over a long-time weight loss process at the cost of aging? We aimed to assess the association between body mass index (BMI) and clinical or neonatal outcomes in patients undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment, for answering whether it is necessary to lose weight first for obese patients, particularly those at advanced age.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed using multicentered data from China.
Salt stress is a well-known abiotic constraint that hampers crop productivity, affecting more than 424 million hectares of topsoil worldwide. Applying plant growth regulators externally has proven effective in enhancing crop resilience to salt stress. Previous metabolomics studies revealed an accumulation of Valine-Threonine-Isoleucine-Aspartic acid (VTID) in salt-stressed maize seedlings, suggesting its potential to assist maize adaptation to salt stress.

Methods: RESULTS: A total of 11 variables, including eight from female (age, body mass index, duration of infertility, prior miscarriage, and spontaneous abortion), hormone levels (anti-Müllerian hormone, follicle-stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone), and three from male (smoking, semen volume, and sperm concentration), were identified as the significant variables associated with IUI clinical pregnancy in our Chinese dataset. The RF-based prediction model presents an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.
Background: We sought to examine the associations of the Lifestyle for Brain Health (LIBRA) index with cognitive function among rural Chinese older adults and to explore the potential role of cluster of differentiation 33 gene (CD33) in the associations.
Methods: This population-based cross-sectional study included 4914 dementia-free participants (age ≥60 years; 56.43 % women) in the 2018 baseline examination of MIND-China.
The use of biological agents offers a sustainable alternative to chemical control in managing plant diseases. In this study, Bacillus velezensis IFST-221 was isolated from the rhizosphere of a healthy maize plant amidst a population showing severe disease symptoms. The investigation demonstrated a broad-spectrum antagonistic activity of IFST-221 against eight species of pathogenic ascomycetes and oomycetes, suggesting its potential utility in combating plant diseases like maize ear rot and cotton Verticillium wilt.

Summary Answer: NT4 supplementation of culture significantly enhances the growth, steroid hormone production, and maturity potential of human secondary follicles derived from fresh ovarian medulla (from post- and pre-pubertal patients), thereby yielding fertilizable oocytes.
What Is Known Already: Reconstituting folliculogenesis is of paramount importance in the realms of fertility preservation, reproductive biology research, and reproductive toxicity assessments. However, the efficiency of culture systems remains suboptimal, as the attainment of fertilizable oocytes from growth (IVG) of human follicles remains unachieved, with the data being particularly scant regarding follicles from prepubertal girls.
