having chromosomally-encoded is rarely reported. In this study, we recovered a chromosomal carrying , designated HeN100, from the feces of a diarrheal pig in China. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing showed that HeN100 was resistant to three aminoglycosides, twelve β-lactams including three carbapenems, one phenicol, two tetracyclines, two fluoroquinolones, nitrofurantoin, and colistin tested.

Our recent study indicated that activation of P2X7R in microglial cells of spinal cord contributes to the inflammatory pain induced by BmK I, the major active compound from Buthus martensi Karsch (BmK). In the present study, we further investigated whether P2X7R in satellite glial cells (SGCs) of dorsal root ganglion (DRG) is involved in the BmK I-induced pain in rats.

Pulse pressure (PP) as an independent prognostic factor of cardiovascular risk might be clinically implicated in predicting the short-term deaths due to cardiovascular diseases in ESRD patients. This study aimed to investigate the dose-response association between PP and risk of cardiovascular mortality in patients initializing peritoneal dialysis (PD).

Objective: To analyze the risk factors of preoperative upper respiratory infections in children with cleft lips and palate (CLP) and investigate preventive measures to reduce infections and improve the quality of treatments.
Methods: A total of 510 children with CLP of ages 3 years old or younger were selected from hospital cases from June to December 2017. The test group comprised 50 children with upper respiratory infections, whereas the control group comprised 460 children without upper respiratory infections.
The Haber-Bosch process for industrial-scale NH3 production suffers from harsh conditions and serious CO2 release. Electrochemical N2 reduction is an alternative approach to synthesize NH3 under ambient conditions, but it requires highly-efficient electrocatalysts for the N2 reduction reaction (NRR). In this Communication, we demonstrate that WO3 nanosheets rich in oxygen vacancies (R-WO3 NSs) exhibit greatly enhanced NRR performances.

Objective: To understand the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of foodborne parasitic diseases among medical college students, so as to provide the evidence for the development of strategies on health education.
Methods: A total of 929 premed students from a medical college were selected in Hebei Province using the stratified sampling method from October to December, 2017, and investigated by questionnaires to understand their KAP on foodborne parasitic diseases.
Results: The understanding and concern degree on foodborne parasitic diseases among the college students from different majors were statistically different (all < 0.
In this study, we have designed and synthesized a novel 'AND' logic based fluorescence probe,1-(3',6'-bis((tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)oxy)-3-oxospiro (isoindoline-1,9'-xanthen)-2-yl)-3-phenylthiourea (FPSi), for the rapid (3 min) simultaneous detection of F and Hg in DMSO/HO solution (7:3, v/v). The FPSi probe, synthesized over three steps starting from commercially available fluorescein, was constructed by attaching tert-butyldiphenylsilyl and thiosemicarbazide (as the specific identification groups for F and Hg) to the skeleton of fluorescein, respectively. FPSi produced no fluorescence response towards the addition of F or Hg separately.

Both artificial and natural selection during domestication has resulted in remarkable changes in behavioral, physiological, and morphological phenotypes; however, the genetic mechanisms underpinning these changes remain unclear, particularly for indigenous Chinese sheep. In the present study, we performed pooled whole-genome resequencing of 338 sheep from five breeds representative of indigenous Chinese breeds and compared them to the wild ancestors of domestic sheep (Asian mouflon, ) for detection of genome-wide selective sweeps.

Atherosclerosis (AS), a progressive disorder, is one of the tough challenges in the clinic. Scutellarin, an extract from Herba Erigerontis, is found to have oxygen-free radicals scavenging effects and antioxidant effects. In this study, we aimed to investigate the anti-AS effects of scutellarin is related to controlling the Hippo-FOXO3A and PI3K/AKT signal pathway.

We found that the expression of P2X7 receptors (P2X7Rs) was up-regulated in the ipsilateral spinal dorsal horn after BmK I injection in rats. P2X7R was selectively localized in microglia but not astrocytes or neurons.

Recent studies suggested that Rhodiola crenulata extract (RCE) has cognitive protective effects in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD).
Purpose: To assess the protective effects of RCE on cognitive deficits and clarify its therapeutic mechanisms in Aβ -induced rat models of AD.
Combinational therapy is usually considered as a preferable approach for effective cancer therapy. Especially, combinational chemo and photothermal therapy is of particular interest due to its high flexibility as well as efficiency. In this article, we the silica nanoparticles (SLN) were surface conjugated with Cetuximab (Cet-SLN) to target epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a common receptor that usually observed to overexpress in multiple breast cancers.

Experimental AD model was induced in rats by bilateral hippocampal injection of Aβ, and Morris water maze task (MWM) was used to evaluate the effects of RCE on AD. Subsequently, the metabolomic study was performed using HPLC-FT-ICR-MS, fraction collector and direct infusion (DI)-FT-ICR-MS to screen and identify the potential biomarkers.
