Radiotherapy (RT) plays an important role in the treatment for locally advanced rectal cancer patients. It can bring radio exposure together with the survival benefit. Cancer survivors are generally at an increased risk for second malignancies, and survivors receiving RT may have higher risks than survivors not receiving RT.

Objective To prepare and identify rabbit anti-cyclin dependent kinase 6 (CDK6) antibody. Methods The recombinant pET21a (+)/CDK6 was successfully constructed, then the recombinant plasmid was transformed into E.coli BL21 (DE3) competent cells and was induced by isopropyl-β-D-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG) for protein expression, which was detected by SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis.

Background: We conducted this study to explore clinicopathological profiles of brain metastases (BM) and establish a clinical prediction model that predicts the presence of BM in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients.
Methods: Patients with initially diagnosed CRC were reviewed between the year 2010 and 2015. Multiple imputations are used for handling missing values.

The viral latent membrane proteins LMP1 and LMP2 are persistently expressed in NPC tissues; the cytoplasmic domain of LMP1 (LMP1 C-terminal) and LMP2A (LMP2A N-terminal) proteins is essential for maintenance of latency and can alter host cell signaling to facilitate tumor growth and progression. Thus, targeting LMP1 or LMP2 oncoprotein has been an increasing interest for diagnosis and targeted therapy of NPC.

Objective: To establish a simple, rapid and economical method in detecting mutations of oncogene K-ras and to investigate its mutations in colorectal cancer tissues and its relationship with clinicopathologic characteristics of colorectal carcinoma.
Methods: Forty colorectal cancer tissues were tested for K-ras mutations at codon 12 and codon 13 using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) followed by direct sequencing and polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) followed by sequence analysis. The other 113 colorectal cancer tissues were tested for K-ras mutations at codon 12 and codon 13 using PCR-RFLP followed by sequence analysis only.
