Here, we present a protocol for generating the lung cancer cell line, LLC1-BMT5, with highly brain metastatic tropism through multiple rounds of in vivo selection. We describe steps for establishing the brain metastases (BrMs) mouse model through intracardiac injection of cancer cells. We then detail procedures for obtaining brain metastatic subpopulations, in vivo selection of LLC1-BMT5 cells, and validating metastatic potential.

In our previous study, Pueraria lobata polysaccharide (PLP-3) with antioxidant activity was prepared via water extraction and alcohol precipitation combined with ultrasonic degradation.

Considering that the specific mechanism by which NR4A3 regulates gene transcription in HCC (hepatocellular carcinoma) has not yet been elucidated, our study aimed to explore the transcriptional role of NR4A3 in regulating the target gene CDKN2AIP (CDKN2A interacting protein), which will suppress the development of HCC. Our data show that NR4A3 is downregulated in human HCC tissues, and that low expression of NR4A3 is correlated with poor prognosis, indicating that NR4A3 could act as a tumor suppressor gene in HCC.

Ruthenium (Ru)-based catalysts have emerged as promising alternatives to Iridium (Ir) catalysts in proton exchange membrane water electrolysis cells due to their lower price and excellent oxygen evolution reaction (OER) activity. However, their stability is compromised by generation of unstable high-valence Ru sites and oxygen vacancy in a lattice oxygen-mediated (LOM) pathway. Here, a low-load Ru site on a Barium (Ba)-doped CoO (RuBaCoO) catalyst is developed with abundant Ruthenium─Cobalt (Ru─Co) pairs for enhanced acidic OER activity.

Methods: This study enlisted WMH and age-matched healthy controls (HC). All participants underwent six different tests: magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), fundus photography, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual field testing.
Neonicotinoid insecticides (NNIs) are extensively used in agricultural production in China due to their selective neurotoxicity towards target insects. In recent years, the rapid development of agriculture has increased the use and residue of NNIs. Consequently, the sediment environment, serving as the ultimate sink, is significantly impacted by NNIs.

The Illumina short-read platform is widely used in marine environment studies due to its cost-effectiveness and high accuracy, but its limited read length restricts taxonomic identification mainly to genus or family levels. Recently, the PacBio long-read sequencing platform was developed.

The current study aimed to validate the feasibility and efficacy of CNPs in tracking sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) in patients with early vulvar cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed patients with vulvar cancer at our institution from January 2016 to April 2022 who were pathologically diagnosed and underwent SLNB or inguinofemoral lymphadenectomy (IFLND).
The purpose of this study was to substitute shortening with olive diacylglycerol oil/candelilla wax (OCW)-olive diacylglycerol stearin (ODS) oleogels and evaluate their impact on starch digestibility in cookies. The in vitro digestibility study confirmed that the OCW/ODS-based cookies exhibited a notable enhancement of 14.6% in slowly digestible starch (SDS) and an increase of 3.

However, it is still a critical challenge to achieve efficient transfer of interface carriers. In this paper, we propose a strategy of "photo-modulated interface charge" to design a PEC sensor based on a hollow hexagonal tubular InS/AgInS in situ Z-type heterojunction for the susceptible detection of Programmed Death-ligand 1 (PD-L1).

However, the transgenerational reproductive toxicity and underlying mechanisms of polystyrene (PS), particularly carboxyl-modified PS (PS-COOH) and amino-modified PS (PS-NH), remain largely unexplored. In this study, the parental generation (P0) of Caenorhabditis elegans was subjected to environmental concentrations (0.

Securinine (SCR) has a lengthy history of use in the treatment of disorders of the nervous system, and its anticancer potential has been gaining attention in recent years. The aim of this study was to explore the repressive effect of SCR on GC and its fundamental mechanism.

Among the common BFRs, tetrabromobisphenol A (TBBPA) and hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDs) pose substantial ecological and human health risks due to their extensive application and long-range transport. This study established 131 sample collection sites along the coast of the South China Sea (SCS) in Guangdong Province to assess the concentration, distribution, inventory, and ecological risk of TBBPA and HBCDs in surface sediments.

However, the effect of the antioxidant polysaccharide (DOP) on atherosclerosis is still not elucidated.
Purpose: This study aims to investigate the inhibitory effect and the potential mechanism of DOP on high-fat diet-induced atherosclerosis in Apolipoprotein E knockout (ApoE) mice.
Brain metastases (BrMs) are the leading cause of death in patients with solid cancers. BrMs exhibit a highly immunosuppressive milieu and poor response to immunotherapies; however, the underlying mechanism remains largely unclear. Here, we show that upregulation of HSP47 in tumor cells drives metastatic colonization and outgrowth in the brain by creating an immunosuppressive microenvironment.
