Exploring the hydrogeochemistry of cave drip water and its response to precipitation events in karst rocky desertification regions is of great significance to the paleoenvironment reconstruction of the karst desertification process using speleothem. We selected three perennial drip sites in the Shijiangjun Cave, located in Guizhou Province, Southwest China, and carried out high-frequency monitoring and sampling during two rainfalls from 22 to 25 May 2016. The major hydrogeochemical parameters of drip water and their relationships with karst desertification were analyzed.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global public health problem, and cardiovascular disease is the most common cause of death in patients with CKD. The incidence and prevalence of cardiovascular events during the early stages of CKD increases significantly with a decline in renal function. More than 50% of dialysis patients die from cardiovascular disease, including coronary heart disease, heart failure, arrhythmia, and sudden cardiac death.

In karst areas, the characteristics of water chemistry and carbon and nitrogen are of great significance to basic research. The contents of Ca, Mg, K, Na, HCO, SO, NO, Cl, dissolved organic carbon (DOC), and total nitrogen (TN) in water samples from 18 rivers and 14 springs in the Huangzhouhe River Basin were determined. The results showed that the water chemistry type in the Huangzhouhe River Basin is HCO-Ca-Mg.

To investigate the variation of the biogeochemical cycle of riverine dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) and silicon (DSi) with the cascade damming, the bicarbonate ([Formula: see text]), dissolved silicon (DSi), and other environmental factors within the cascade reservoirs of the lower reaches of Yalongjiang River, passing through the southeastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, were systematically analyzed by collecting water samples during the wet season and dry season from 2018 to 2019, respectively. The results showed that the lower ratio of DSi to[Formula: see text] (0.044 ± 0.

One new compound ()-2,3-dihydroxybutyl 2-hydroxy-3,5,6-trimethylbenzoate (1) and six known compounds xylariphthalide A (2), convolvulol (3), cis-4-hydroxy-6-deoxytalone (4), phomoxydienes B (5), 5,6-dihydroxy-2,3,6-trimethylcyclohex-2-enone (6), trans-cyclo-(D-tryptophanyl-L-tyrosyl) (7) were isolated from Diaporthe sp., an endophytic fungus hosted in the leaves of the toxic Chinese folk medicine Tylophora ouata, using the combination methods of silica gel column chromatography, medium-pressure ODS column chromatography and RP-preparative HPLC. The structure of compound 1 was elucidated by NMR and MS data analyses.
