Background: This study aimed to delineate the temporal patterns of esophageal cancer epidemic trends and spatial clustering patterns among male populations in China's mainland from 1990 to 2021. This analysis aimed to provide a scientific rationale and empirical data to facilitate the formulation of targeted prevention and control strategies.

Methods: Data on the number of cases and deaths, crude and age-standardized incidence and mortality rates of esophageal cancer in men were collected from the Global Burden of Disease Study and the Chinese Cancer Registry Annual Report.

Incidence trends and spatial distribution of thyroid cancer in the Chinese female population from 1990 to 2019.

Objective: This study aimed to analyze the incidence trends and spatial distribution characteristics of thyroid cancer among Chinese females from 1990 to 2019, thereby providing a scientific foundation and data support for the development of prevention and control policies.

Although granular activated carbon (GAC) supplementation into food waste anaerobic digestion system is an efficient means to enhance methane production. As yet, little is known whether GAC supplementation is suitable for the extreme condition of pH below 4.5, which occurs in the use of readily acidogenic carbohydrate-rich waste (RACW) as methanogenic substrate when at low inoculation/substrate (I/S) ratio.

The Interactive Association of General Obesity and Central Obesity with Prevalent Hypertension in Rural Lanzhou, China.

Objective: To evaluate the interactive association between obesity with different anthropometry indices and prevalence of hypertension in rural Lanzhou.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in rural Lanzhou from April to July in 2013. The available information of 1275 rural residents aged more than 35 years was collected with a unified questionnaire and their blood pressure and anthropometry indices were measured in the field.

Sexual Practices and the Prevalence of HIV and Syphilis among Men Who Have Sex with Men in Lanzhou, China.

We aimed to assess the risk of infections caused by sexual practices and determine the factors affecting the prevalence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and syphilis among men who have sex with men (MSM) in Lanzhou, China. A survey including 600 MSM was conducted from March 2008 to December 2009. Demographic and sexual behavior data were collected using the snowball sampling technology, and blood samples were obtained.

Preventive measures against sexually transmitted infections among female sex workers in Lanzhou, China.

Background: We assessed the effects of preventive practices on sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and reproductive tract infections (RTIs) among female sex workers (FSWs) in Lanzhou, China.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 350 FSWs from November 2008 to January 2009. Demographic information and behavioural factors associated with STIs were collected from all the participants.
