Background: The causal relationship between PM (particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter ≤2.5 μm) and common mental disorders, along with its neuropathological mechanisms, remains unclear.
Methods: We used genome-wide association study datasets from the UK Biobank and Psychiatric Genomics Consortium to systematically investigate the causal relationship between PM and nine common psychiatric disorders using two-sample Mendelian randomization (TSMR) methods.
Colon cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide and has been increasingly linked to the gut microbiome. Clostridium butyricum (CB), a probiotic, has demonstrated potential in influencing colon cancer cell behavior, particularly through the modulation of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and mRNAs. This study examines the effects of CB on the expression of lncRNAs and mRNAs in SW480 colon cancer cells and their association with apoptosis.

However, significant variations in testing methods across different manufacturers have led to poor reproducibility of results, increasing the risks associated with drug quality evaluation by manufacturers and regulatory oversight. This study integrates the strengths of various testing methods to establish a reproducible assay that has been thoroughly validated.

However, there is limited understanding about the impact of rare variants, such as exon 20 insertion mutation (ex20ins) and exon 14 skipping mutation (ex14) in the Chinese population even though targeted therapies have been approved in China. We conducted a scoping review to assess the current available evidence of these two mutations in NSCLC in the Chinese population.

However, how caspase-4/11s bind with GBPs together to activate caspase-4/11 by LPS remains elusive. We here found that BA derivatives from gut microbiota can regulate sensitivity of macrophages to LPS and Gram-negative bacteria through .

We aimed to examine the association between BA acceleration and incident stroke and its subtypes, explore the modifying effects on genetic susceptibility, and assess how BA acceleration mediates the effect of behavior score. We studied 253,932 UK Biobank participants and computed two BA measures (Klemera-Doubal Method [KDM], Phenotypic Age [PhenoAge]), with BA acceleration calculated by regressing BA on chronological age.

Although combining the two methods can enhance the effectiveness of hemostasis, there is a paucity of studies reporting on outcome. The aim of this study was to report a surgical protocol for postpartum hemorrhage by intrauterine balloon tamponing combined with mid-section loop ligation and its subsequent effects on the uterus.

Methods: The ApoE mice atherosclerosis model was constructed using a high-fat diet, and mice were divided into a normal diet group (ND), high-fat diet group (HFD), hUC-MSCs treatment group (HFDM), while the blank control (BC) consisted of C57BL/6J mice. After successful establishment of the model, the feces, hearts, and aorta of mice were collected.
Cognitive decline is a critical hallmark of brain aging. Although aging is a natural process, there is significant heterogeneity in cognition levels among individuals; however, the underlying mechanisms remain uncertain. In our study, we classified aged male Sprague‒Dawley rats into aged cognition-unimpaired (AU) group and aged cognition-impaired (AI) group by using an attentional set-shifting task.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of CD20 and FCRL5 gene polymorphisms with AITD susceptibility.
The advancement of rational nano drug delivery systems offers robust tools for achieving synergistic therapeutic outcomes in tumor treatment. In this study, we present the development of pH and near-infrared laser dual-responsive nanoparticles (DOX-CuS@CaCO@PL-PEG, DCCP NPs) based on calcium carbonate, utilizing a one-pot gas diffusion reaction. These nanoparticles enable combined photothermal therapy (PTT), chemodynamic therapy (CDT), chemotherapy, and Ca-overloading synergistic therapy.

However, data on the failure patterns of first-line ICIs monotherapy is limited, and the optimal strategy for subsequent treatment remains controversial.
Methods: Advanced NSCLC patients receiving first-line ICIs monotherapy at Guangdong Lung Cancer Institute between December 2017 and October 2021 were identified.
Background: The objective of this investigation was to explore the correlation between the visceral adiposity index (VAI) and depression, and to analyze how type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) may influence this relationship.
Methods: This study included data of 12,378 participants sourced from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2005-2018. Utilizing multivariate logistic regression and restricted cubic spline (RCS) regression, we examined the correlation between VAI and depression.
An association between thyroid function and multiple sclerosis (MS) has been reported in several observational studies, but the causal relationship between them is still unclear. Thus, this study used a bidirectional Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate the associations between thyroid function and MS. Bidirectional MR was used to explore the causal relationship between thyroid function (thyroid-stimulating hormone [TSH], free thyroxine [FT4], hyperthyroidism, and hypothyroidism) and MS.

Background: Adenocarcinoma of the esophagogastric junction (AEGJ) with a specific pathological profile and poor prognosis has limited therapeutic options. Previous studies have found that TILs exhibit distinct characteristics in different tumors and are correlated with tumor prognosis. We established cellular training sets to obtain auto-quantified TILs in pathological images.
