Familial hypercholesterolemia in Chinese children and adolescents: a multicenter study.

Background: Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is an inherited disorder mainly marked by increased low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) concentrations and a heightened risk of early-onset arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). This study seeks to characterize the genetic spectrum and genotype‒phenotype correlations of FH in Chinese pediatric individuals.

Methods: Data were gathered from individuals diagnosed with FH either clinically or genetically at multiple hospitals across mainland China from January 2016 to June 2024.

Correlation between coronal wedge deformity and sagittal spinal curvature in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis: a retrospective analysis.

The correlation between the Cobb angle and the sagittal spinal curvature (SSC) in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) has been reported in some previous studies, but few studies have reported on the relation of coronal wedge deformity (CWD) with sagittal curvature. This study aims to investigate the correlation between CWD and SSC in AIS patients. A retrospective analysis was conducted in 122 AIS patients treated at our hospital from January 2018 to November 2023.

[Imaging study on thoracic and lumbar physiological curvature in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis].

Objective: To observe the alteration of thoracic and lumbar physiological curvature in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis(AIS) and the difference of physiological curvature between different types of scoliosis.

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 305 adolescent patients taken full spine X-ray in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2021. The patients were divided into normal group and scoliosis group.

Imaging study of coccygeal morphology in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.

The correlation between scoliosis and sagittal curvature of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine have already been reported in previous studies. However, as a part of the spine, the change in coccygeal morphology in AIS patients has not yet been studied. In this study, a retrospective analysis was performed on 400 patients who were divided into a non-scoliotic group (206 patients) and an AIS group (194 patients).

Study on the relationship between scoliosis and vision problems: A narrative review.

Adolescent scoliosis is one of the most common surgical disorders of the pediatric spine. With timely detection and early treatment, most scoliotic children can avoid major and expensive surgery. Vision problems are also frequently found at an early age and can take a toll on individuals quality of life.

A total of 198 children treated in our hospital from December 2011 to December 2021 were recruited.

[Relationship between rs2282679 gene locus polymorphism and vitamin D deficiency in college students].

Objective: To investigate the relationship between vitamin D binding protein gene rs2282679 A/C polymorphism with blood vitamin D levels.

Methods: A total of 286 eligible subjects were selected from one university in Hebei Province. Serum 25-hydroxylated vitamin D levels were measured by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, and gene chip was used for genotyping of rs2282679 locus.

Suppressing PKC-dependent membrane P2X3 receptor upregulation in dorsal root ganglia mediated electroacupuncture analgesia in rat painful diabetic neuropathy.

Painful diabetic neuropathy (PDN) is a common and troublesome diabetes complication. Protein kinase C (PKC)-mediated dorsal root ganglia (DRG) P2X3 receptor upregulation is one important mechanism underlying PDN. Methods: A systematic literature retrieval was conducted in the Chinese Bio medicine Database, CNKI database, Chongqin VIP database and Wangfang database. The statistical analysis was performed using a RevMan 4.

Influence of geographic setting on thermal discharge from coastal power plants.

Characteristics of thermal discharge from three coastal power plants were studied in China. The three plants, Zhuhai Power Plant, Chaozhou Power Plant and Huilai Power Plant, are located in estuary, bay and open sea, respectively. The water temperatures and ocean currents surrounding the outlet of the three power plants were monitored.

[Case-control study on suspine rotation manipulation for the treatment of lumbar disc herniation].

[Effect of pre-electroacupuncture at "Zusanli" (ST 36) on DA and 5-HT contents and their ratio in hypothalamus and striatum in exercise rats].

Objective: To observe anti-fatigue effect and mechanisms of pre-electroacupuncture (EA) at "Zusanli" (ST 36) in rats undergoing acute treadmill running.

Methods: Fifty male SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: a quiet group (group Q, n = 10), a model group (group M, n = 20) and an EA preconditioning group (group EAP, n = 20). After adaptation for undergoing treadmill running, all the rats in group M and group EAP were trained on acute treadmill running.

Hematuria after orthopedic tuina: a case report and brief review of literature.

We present a case of a 24-year-old man who presented hematuria after the orthopedic tuina, which has not been recorded previously in the literature. We review complications of tuina in the literature too.
