Purpose: This study aimed at analyzing and comparing the clinical efficacy and prognosis of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in the treatment of recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma (RHCC).
Methods: Clinicopathological data of RHCC patients who underwent RFA or SBRT as treatment from three medical centers were retrospectively reviewed. The survival outcomes of patients who underwent SBRT were compared with those who underwent RFA.
Background: Ultra-low rectal endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) presents technical challenges due to anatomical features. The objective of this research was to determine the risk factors linked to unsuccessful curative resections and to create a nomogram predictive model to assess the likelihood of encountering technical challenges.
Methods: Patients with ultra-low rectal tumors received ESD form June 2017 to December 2022 were retrospectively enrolled.
Background: GI cancers pose an increasing global health burden, with their impact on the working-age population (WAP) aged 15-64 years remaining largely unexplored despite the crucial role of this group in societal and economic well-being.
Objective: To assess trends and cross-country inequality in the global burden of six GI cancers from 1990 to 2021 among individuals in the WAP.
Design: The 2021 Global Burden of Disease study dataset was used to obtain estimates of GI cancer incidence and 95% uncertainty intervals, including the number of cases, crude incidence rate and age-standardised incidence rate (ASIR).

A seventh blind test of crystal structure prediction was organized by the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre featuring seven target systems of varying complexity: a silicon and iodine-containing molecule, a copper coordination complex, a near-rigid molecule, a cocrystal, a polymorphic small agrochemical, a highly flexible polymorphic drug candidate, and a polymorphic morpholine salt. In this first of two parts focusing on structure generation methods, many crystal structure prediction (CSP) methods performed well for the small but flexible agrochemical compound, successfully reproducing the experimentally observed crystal structures, while few groups were successful for the systems of higher complexity. A powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) assisted exercise demonstrated the use of CSP in successfully determining a crystal structure from a low-quality PXRD pattern.

Methods: We carried out a two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis using GWAS data from European ancestry, East Asian descendants and the FinnGen Biobank Consortium to evaluate this potential causal relationship.
The E3 enzyme in the UPS pathway is a crucial factor for inhibiting substrate specificity. In Solanaceae, the U-box E3 ubiquitin ligase has a complex relationship with plant growth and development, and plays a pivotal role in responding to various biotic and abiotic stresses. The analysis of the gene family in Solanaceae and its expression profile under different stresses holds significant implications.

Method: Data from 113 patients where Type B2 was observed by magnifying endoscopy and confirmed by postoperative pathology as SESCC at the First Affiliated Hospital of Fujian Medical University and Fujian Provincial Hospital from January 2015 to April 2024 were retrospectively analyzed. Patients were divided into correct prediction and incorrect prediction groups according to the postoperative pathological results, and the prediction accuracy was calculated.
Background: The dirigent (DIR) genes encode proteins that act as crucial regulators of plant lignin biosynthesis. In Solanaceae species, members of the DIR gene family are intricately related to plant growth and development, playing a key role in responding to various biotic and abiotic stresses. It will be of great application significance to analyze the DIR gene family and expression profile under various pathogen stresses in Solanaceae species.

This study assessed global, regional, and national trends in metabolic disorders and associated mortality over three decades in WAP.
Methods: Data from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 study were leveraged to assess global metabolism-associated mortality and six key metabolic risk factors in WAP from 1990-2019.
Small bowel vascular malformation disease (SBVM) commonly causes obscure gastrointestinal bleeding (OGIB). However, the pathogenetic mechanism and the role of lncRNAs in SBVM remain largely unknown. Here, we found that hypoxia and low-glucose environments co-augment angiogenesis and existed in SBVM.

Community-based home care is seen as an effective approach to meet the care needs of older adults living with disabilities.
Objective: To construct a coping target checklist for home-based older adults living with disabilities and their spousal caregivers.
Background: Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADHs) are the crucial enzymes that can convert ethanol into acetaldehyde. In tobacco, members of ADH gene family are involved in various stresses tolerance reactions, lipid metabolism and pathways related to plant development. It will be of great application significance to analyze the ADH gene family and expression profile under various stresses in tobacco.

Developing a high quality and broad coverage general FF is a significant undertaking that requires substantial expert knowledge and computing resources, which is beyond the scope of general practitioners. Existing FFs originate from only a limited number of groups and organizations, and they either suffer from limited numbers of training sets, lower than desired quality because of oversimplified representations, or are costly for the molecular modeling community to access.

Health empowerment, based on the idea that individuals may be successful despite disability, may be meaningful to disabled persons and their spouse carers. This cross-sectional survey study aimed to explore the effect of health empowerment on the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) of older individuals with disabilities and their spouse carers on both a personal (actor effect) and interpersonal level (partner effect).
