Atherosclerosis is viewed as not just as a problem of lipid build-up in blood vessels, but also as a chronic inflammatory disease involving both innate and acquired immunity. In atherosclerosis, the inflammation of the arterial walls is the key characteristic that significantly contributes to both the instability of plaque and the occlusion of arteries by blood clots. These events ultimately lead to stroke and acute coronary syndrome.

Methods: The laboratory data collected from 1533 patients diagnosed with AP between August 2018 and August 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were classified into mild acute pancreatitis (MAP) and non-mild acute pancreatitis (Non-MAP) groups; non-MAP groups were additionally subgrouped based on HFLC% at day 7.
Background: Hyper- and hypotension increase the risk of cognitive dysfunction. As effective control of blood pressure can reduce the risk of mild cognitive impairment (MCI), early risk assessment is necessary to identify MCI in senile hypertension as soon as possible and reduce the risk of developing dementia. No perfect risk-prediction model or nomogram has been developed to evaluate the risk of MCI in older adults with hypertension.

Methods: Totally 48 specific pathogen free Sprague-Dawley male rats were randomly divided into normal Group, model group, Dangfei Liganning high, moderate, and low-dose groups and Essentiale group which were fed with high fat diet for 8 weeks, and gavage and molding were carried out simultaneously. Dangfei Liganning high, middle and low-dose group were given 0.
Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Jiu-Wei-Yong-An (JWYA) formula is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) prescription used to treat atopic dermatitis (AD) in the clinic. JWYA is considered to have anti-inflammatory and antipruritic properties. However, the mechanism of JWYA remains unclear.

Introduction: Fatal familial insomnia (FFI) is a rare clinical case. The study was mainly to report the clinical symptoms and imaging and genetic characteristics of a FFI case with depression, with relevant literature summarized.
Patient Concerns: A male, aged 57 years old, with mental disorders and progressive memory decline one year before admission.
Curcumin has been used in the study of central nervous system immune-related diseases and exerts a substantial neuroprotective effect. However, the mechanism remains unclear. The AKT/mTOR autophagy-related signalling pathway plays an important role in tumour therapy, but whether curcumin plays a therapeutic role in multiple sclerosis (MS) through this signalling pathway remains to be determined.

Materials And Methods: 54 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups: the untreated control group (n=18); the hypoxia group (n=18; exposed to 6000 m simulated plateau altitude for six days); and the GB group (n=18; intragastric administration of 12 mg/kg GB three days prior to rapid adaption to 6000 m and on the first two days of hypoxia). After hypoxia exposure for six days, we dissected out the brain hippocampi and performed hematoxylin and eosin staining, Nissl staining, and TUNEL staining.
Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) face high postevent mortality. This study aims to evaluate the impact of living without spouse on 1-year mortality of ACS patients. This retrospective study enrolled a total of 600 consecutive patients (≥75 years of age) with ACS hospitalized in our hospital between January 2013 and December 2016.

Methods: The electronic databases of Medline, Cochrane, Embase, Web of Science, OVID and CNKI were systematic searched to identified the case-control or Cohort studies relevant to diagnostic efficacy of serum 1,3-β-D-glucan for invasive fungal infection. The data of true positive (tp), false positive (fp), false negative (fn) and true negative (tn) patients number were extracted from each of the original included studies.
Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate the novel approach for targeting malignant glioma.
Methods: Interleukin-13 receptor alpha2 (IL-13Ralpha2)-specific cytotoxic T-cells (CTLs) were induced from the peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBLs) of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-A2 positive healthy donors by multiple stimulations with artificial antigen-presenting cells (aAPCs) made by coating HLA-A2-Ig/pIL-13Ralpha2(345-354) dimeric complexes, anti-CD28 antibody, and CD83 molecules to cell-sized latex beads.
Results: The induced CTLs exhibited a specific lysis against T2 cells pulsed with the peptide pIL-13Ralpha2(345-354) and HLA-A2(+) glioma cells expressing IL-13Ralpha2(345-354), while HLA-A2(-) glioma cell lines that express IL-13Ralpha2(345-354) could not be recognized by the CTLs.
Four compounds have been isolated from the algae Hydroclathrus clathratus collected from the South China Sea. Their structures were established as 1-glyceryl hexadecanoate (1), eicosanamide, N-[2'-hydroxy-1'-(hydroxymethyl) pentadecyl] (2), uracil (3), mannitol (4) by MS, 1HNMR and 13CNMR. Compound 1, 2 and 3 were isolated from this algae for the first time.

Methods: Permeation of acyclovir across porcine buccal mucosa was studied by using side-by-side through diffusion cells at 37 degrees C. The permeability of acyclovir was determined at pH range of 3.
