The efficient separation of CO and CO under low-humidity conditions is crucial for ensuring the long-term operational stability of industrial applications. While the number of adsorbent cations plays a key role in separation, their influence on purification under low humidity remains insufficiently understood. The breakthrough results indicate that, even under extremely low humidity, the adsorption capacity of CO and CO can decrease by up to 6 and 24%, respectively.

Cancer is a major cause of death and morbidity in China. We aimed to analyze the trends in cancer mortality in six provinces in northwest China (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province, Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region) from 2013 to 2021 and to explore the effect of cancer on life expectancy and the years of life lost. Based on cancer mortality data and demographic data from national surveillance units in six northwestern provinces from 2013 to 2021 in the National Cause-of-Death Surveillance, we calculated crude mortality rates, age-standardized mortality rates, life expectancy, cause-eliminated life expectancy, potential gains in life expectancy (PGLEs), years of life lost (YLL), YLL rates, and average years of life lost.

Mitochondrial uncouplers dissipate proton gradients and deplete ATP production from oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). While the growth of prostate cancer depends on OXPHOS-generated ATP, the oncogenic pathway mediated by the transcription factor E2F1 is crucial for the progression of this deadly disease. Here, we report that mitochondrial uncouplers, including tizoxanide (TIZ), the active metabolite of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved anthelmintic nitazoxanide (NTZ), inhibit E2F1-mediated expression of genes involved in cell cycle progression, DNA synthesis, and lipid synthesis.

Supported Pt catalysts are often subjected to severe deactivation under the conditions of high temperature and water vapor in catalytic oxidation; thus, the superior stability and water-resistant ability of catalysts have great significance for the effective degradation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Herein, we constructed a Pt/CeO-N catalyst with an active interfacial perimeter, in which Pt species were partially embedded in the defective CeO-N support to prevent the sintering. A significant charge transfer between Pt species and ceria in the embedding structure occurred via the Pt-CeO interface, which induced the formation of a Pt-O-Ce interfacial structure.

The detection of bolt loosening in key components of aircraft engines faces problems such as complex and difficult-to-establish bolt loosening mechanism models, difficulty in identifying early loosening, and difficulty in extracting signal features with nonlinear and non-stationary characteristics. Therefore, the automated structural bolt micro looseness monitoring method using deep learning was proposed. Specifically, the addition of batch normalization methods enables the established Batch Normalized Stacked Autoencoders (BNSAEs) model to converge quickly and effectively, making the model easy to build and effective.

A novel photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensor for the detection of microcystic toxins (MC-LR) was developed on the basis of signal-sensitive change strategy. NiO nanoarray as a basic photoactive material was grown directly on the ITO glass electrode via calcination after hydrothermal reaction, while dye N719 was used to sensitize the electrode for enhancing visible light absorption, and the first signal-on stage was obtained. In the meantime, p-type CuO was applied as the signal probe attached to probe DNA (DNA) to improve the sensitivity, and the second "signal-on" stage appeared because of its synergistic effect with NiO nanoarrays.
