This study investigates the number line estimation (NLE) strategies utilized by children aged 4-7 across both bounded and unbounded NLE tasks. Drawing on prior research, it hypothesized that younger children would predominantly employ benchmark-based strategies, with endpoints as reference points, in bounded tasks, while older children would utilize a wider range of reference points including midpoints and quartiles. For unbounded tasks, it was anticipated that both younger and older children would adopt the scalloped strategy.

Background: Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) are the predominant type in acupuncture clinical research, and the publications have increased rapidly in recent years, but there is a prevalence of the high risk of bias and poor methodological design in acupuncture RCTs. Clinical trial registration can improve the transparency and credibility of studies by disclosing key information in advance. However, the registration in acupuncture RCTs is not satisfactory, as there is widespread of the under-registration, inconsistency with published studies and insufficient disclosure of key methodological information.

Tin-based hybrid flow batteries have demonstrated dendrite-free morphology and superior performance in terms of cycle life and energy density. However, the quick accumulation of electrodeposits near the electrode/membrane interface blocks the ion transport pathway during the charging of the battery, resulting to a very limited areal capacity (especially at high current density) that significantly hinders its deployment in long-duration storage applications. Constructing active sites with enhanced intrinsic activity and accessibility in a confined microenvironment is critical for simultaneously upgrading the round-trip efficiency and lifespan of all-vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) yet remains under-explored. Here, we present nanointerfacial electric fields (-fields) featuring outstanding intrinsic activity embodied by binary MoC-MoN sublattice. The asymmetric chemical potential on both sides of the reconstructed heterogeneous interface imposes the charge movement and accumulation near the atomic-scale N-Mo-C binding region, eliciting the configuration of an accelerator-like -field from MoN to MoC sublattice.

Protonation has been considered essential for the pseudocapacitive energy storage of polyaniline (PANI) for years, as proton doping in PANI chains not only activates electron transport pathways, but also promotes the proceeding of redox reactions. Rarely has the ability for PANI of storing energy without protonation been investigated, and it remains uncertain whether PANI has pseudocapacitive charge storage properties in an alkaline electrolyte. Here, this work first demonstrates the pseudocapacitive energy storage for PANI without protonation using a PANI/graphene composite as a model material in an alkaline electrolyte.
