To investigate the effects of low-intensity pulsed ultrasound combined with microbubble (LIPUS-MB) mediated JNK/c-Jun pathway reversal on multidrug resistance in triple-negative breast cancer and the underlying mechanisms. An orthogonal experiment was designed to screen for the optimal parameters of LIPUS-MB in MDA-MB-231/DOX cells. The CCK-8 assay was used to determine the drug resistance of the cells and to measure their proliferation activity and resistance reversal efficiency at the optimal parameters.

Patients receiving treatment in specialized cancer hospitals are particularly susceptible to multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRO) infections due to factors such as weakened immune systems caused by intensive treatments and prolonged hospital stays. This study aims to investigate the risk factors for MDRO infections in the cancer specialty hospital setting and to develop a corresponding risk prediction model. Patients diagnosed with MDRO infections were selected for the MDRO infection group (n = 238), and those without for the non-MDRO infection group (n = 238).

Migrasomes are newly identified cellular organelles with a pomegranate-like structure and specifically generated by migrating cells. The mechanisms underlying migrasome biogenesis and methods for their isolation are gradually being elucidated. These organelles are pivotal in cell-to-cell communication and the maintenance of mitochondrial homeostasis.

Objective: To investigate the distribution of carbapenem-resistant Enterobacterales (CRE) in the community and to describe the genomic characteristics.

Methods: CRE screened from fecal samples in healthy people at the health examination center of a tertiary hospital in China underwent Whole genome sequencing (WGS) to analyze genotypic characteristics of CRE. The flanking DNA sequence of blaNDM-5 and mcr1.

Objectives: Meropenem pharmacokinetics (PK) may be altered in septic critically ill patients with complicated intra-abdominal infections (cIAI) and pneumonia. We aimed to evaluate the covariates affecting meropenem PK and the performance of different dosing regimens to optimize the PK/pharmacodynamic target.

Methods: Population PK analysis was performed using non-linear mixed-effects modeling.

Cancer immunotherapy has demonstrated remarkable efficacy in the treatment of cancer, and it has been successfully applied in the treatment of various solid tumors. However, the response rates to immunotherapy in patients with ovarian cancer remain modest because of the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME). Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) represent the predominant myeloid cell population within the TME, which adopt the protumorigenic M2 phenotype and are blinded by the "don't eat me" signals from tumor cells.

Article Synopsis
  • * Natural killer (NK) cells play a key role in fighting cancer, but their numbers and effectiveness often decrease in the tumor microenvironment (TME).
  • * The review discusses how TA-MSCs inhibit NK cell function and suggests new approaches to improve the body's immune response to cancer.

Stomata are epidermal openings that facilitate plant-atmosphere gas and water exchange during photosynthesis, respiration and water evaporation. SPEECHLESS (SPCH) is a master basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that determines the initiation of stomatal development. It is known that blue light promotes stomatal development through the blue light photoreceptor cryptochromes (CRYs, CRY1 and CRY2).

Article Synopsis
  • The paper evaluates the effectiveness of three-dimensional ultrasonography (3DUS) and three-dimensional power Doppler (3DPD) in diagnosing ovarian cancer (OC), including their combined use.
  • After analyzing 2,566 studies, 18 were selected for the final review, revealing high sensitivity and specificity for both techniques, with 3DUS combined with 3DPD providing the best diagnostic performance.
  • The findings suggest that while both 3DUS and 3DPD are valuable diagnostic tools for OC, their combination significantly enhances diagnostic capability, making it a more efficient option.

Objective: The aim of the work described here was to explore the predictive value of multimodal ultrasound combined with the BRAF gene in cervical lymph node metastasis (CLNM) of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma (PTMC).

Methods: One hundred six patients (114 lesions) with PTMC confirmed by surgery and pathology at Yantai Yuhuangding Hospital from July 2021 to August 2022 were analyzed retrospectively. Routine ultrasound, contrast-enhanced ultrasound, shear wave elastography examination and BRAF V600E gene detection were performed before surgery.

Breast cancer (BC) is a complex disease with diverse manifestations, often resulting in lymph node metastasis (LNM) and impacting patient prognosis. Extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) has emerged as a key player in tumorigenesis, yet its contribution to BC LNM remains elusive. Here, we examined primary tumors and matched LNM tissues from 19 BC patients using the Circle-Seq method.

Background: There are few studies on risk factors for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection in patients with Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorders (NMOSD). The relationship between NMOSD relapse and COVID-19 needs to be evaluated. The objective of our study is to identify the risk factors of COVID-19 infection and NMOSD relapse among NMOSD patients with COVID-19.

For sustainable development, better performance, and less gas pollution during rumen fermentation, there is a need to find a green and safe feed additive for ruminants. Cysteamine (CS) is a biological compound naturally produced in mammalian cells. It is widely used as a growth promoter in ruminants because of its ability to control hormone secretions.

This research adds to the body of knowledge by examining the asymmetric link between rural development and pro-environmental behavior in rural China. Rural development is assessed via rural income and digital financial inclusion. We use linear and nonlinear autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models to assess short- and long-term effects.

As the rate-limiting enzyme in Glutathione (GSH) biosynthesis, the mammalian glutamate cysteine ligase (Gcl) catalytic (Gclc) and modifier (Gclm) subunits are regulated at multiple levels, whereas the function and regulatory mechanism of insect Gcl remain to be explored. In this study, we identified and characterized and in . and were highly expressed in the hindgut and relatively less expressed in other tissues.

Background: Bone defects and deep periodontal pockets often exist distal to the second molar after mandibular third molar extraction, seriously threatening the periodontal health of the second molar.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of socket preservation with bone substitute materials on alveolar bone resorption and prevention of the distal periodontal defect of the adjacent tooth after mandibular impacted third molar extraction compared with natural healing.

Methods: Ninety-nine patients with mandibular impacted teeth, treated in our hospital from January 2018 to December 2020, were randomly divided into the control and experimental groups.
