Aim: Elevated serum ferritin has been found to be closely related to type 2 diabetes mellitus. This study aimed to explore the relationship of high serum ferritin to metabolism and chronic complications in type 2 diabetes.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional study.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether and how stress-induced thyroid hormone changes occur during the COVID-19 pandemic in the northern area of Tianjin.

Methods: This study comprised two groups of study subjects in Tianjin: before (2019) and during (2020) the COVID-19 outbreak. Subjects were included if they had FT3, FT4, and TSH concentrations and thyroid TPOAb or TgAb information available.

We investigated the effects of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) on the occurrence and progression of albuminuria in patients with type 2 diabetes. In this randomized, double-blind, multicenter, controlled trial, we enrolled 600 type 2 diabetes without diabetic nephropathy (DN) or with early-stage DN. Patients were randomly assigned (1:1) to receive Liuwei Dihuang Pills (LWDH) (1.

Two-dimensional (2D) mesoporous nanomaterials are required in catalysis, separation, adsorption, and energy storage fields due to their outstanding mass transfer performance. However, their fabrication via the 'bottom up' strategy has been rarely reported and is limited by the difficulties in obtaining a versatile and accessible structure-directing agent. Here, ultrathin mesoporous silica nanosheets (MSN) were successfully synthesized by employing acidified g-CN as a structural directing agent owing to its natural layered structure, stoichiometric solubility, and amphiphilicity.

To investigate whether there is a difference in carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), carbohydrate antigen 72-4 (CA72-4), and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) between diabetic and non-diabetic patients.  Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed in 268 type 2 diabetic patients and 95 non-diabetic ones, and their serum levels of CA19-9, CEA, CA72-4, and NSE were compared in our endocrine ward at the Tianjin Fourth Central Hospital, Tianjin, Chinaduring the period from January to June 2015. The diabetic patients were divided into 4 groups based on glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels to investigate the relationship between levels of tumor markers and glucose status.

We propose an efficient method to synthesize large-scale soluble acidified graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4). The as-prepared material exhibits the characteristics of a poly-ammonium salt and is soluble in several solvents with good dissolution-recrystallization reversible equilibrium. The pH value- and temperature-dependent solubility of the acidified g-C3N4 facilitates its separation and purification.

A new palladium nanoparticle functionalized multi-wall carbon nanotubes (nano-Pd/CNTs) modified pyrolytic graphite electrode (PGE) has been fabricated for electrochemical sensing of calcium dobesilate (CD) in pharmaceutical capsules. The nano-Pd/CNTs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The nano-Pd/CNTs composite showed a strong electrocatalytic property for CD.

Since the discovery of 2,2'-dimethoxycarbonyl-4,4-dimethoxy-5,6,5',6'-biomethylenedioxy-biphenyl (DDB) as a potent anti-HBV agent, we have studied the structure-activity relationships of 4,4'-dimethoxy-5,6,5',6'-dimethenedioxy-2-alkyloxycarbonyl-2'-(4-substituted benzyl piperazin-1-yl)carbonyl-biphenyl as anti-HBV agents. Therefore, it is rational to extend this study to the 3,3'-disustituted-4,4'-dimethoxy-5,6,5',6'-dimethenedioxy-2-alkyloxycarbonyl-2'-Serine derivatives. Thus, in an attempt to develop an efficient method for the preparation of a large number of DDB derivatives, the reaction between a DDB acid chloride and serine derivatives on solid support was studied.
