Purpose: This study aims to investigate the clinical and molecular characteristics of carbapenemase-producing strains (CPECO).

Patients And Methods: We collected 38 non-repetitive CPECO strains, identified them using MALDI-TOF, and assessed their antimicrobial susceptibility via the VITEK-Compact II system. We gathered demographic and clinical patient data.

There has been increasing concern that the overuse of antibiotics in livestock farming is contributing to the burden of antimicrobial resistance in people. Farmed animals in Europe and North America, particularly pigs, provide a reservoir for livestock-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (LA-MRSA ST398 lineage) found in people. This study is designed to investigate the contribution of MRSA from Chinese pig farms to human infection.

Oxymatrine (OMT), a natural quinoxaline alkaloid extracted from the root of , presents amounts of pharmacological properties including immunomodulation, anti-inflammation, anti-oxidation, and anti-virus. Recent studies tend to focus on its effects on neuroinflammation and neuroprotection in Parkinson's disease (PD) due to its profound anti-inflammatory effect. In this study, the neuroprotective and anti-neuroinflammatory effects of OMT were investigated in 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1, 2, 3, 6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-stimulated mice and 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium (MPP)-induced mice primary microglia.

Due to timber material's environmental benefits and satisfactory structural properties, the studies on providing solutions to the application of timber to mid-rise or even high-rise buildings have been recently increasing. Among them, the steel-timber hybrid shear wall (STHSW) is one of the promising lateral resisting systems. However, the application of the system is limited because of its unsatisfactory earthquake resilience.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder pathologically characterized by the loss of dopaminergic (DA) neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNpc). Chronic neuroinflammation is one of the hallmarks of PD pathophysiology. Cathepsin D (CathD), a soluble aspartic protease, has been reported to play an important role in neurodegenerative diseases such as PD.
