Background: In the bioconversion of lignocellulosic substrates, the adsorption behavior of cellulase onto lignin has a negative effect on enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose, decreasing glucose production during enzymatic hydrolysis, thus decreasing the yield of fermentation and the production of useful products. Understanding the interaction between lignin and cellulase is necessary to optimize the components of cellulase mixture, genetically engineer high-efficiency cellulase, and reduce cost of bioconversion. Most lignin is not removed during liquid hot water (LHW) pretreatment, and the characteristics of lignin in solid substrate are also changed.

Introduction: The reconstruction of extensive three-dimensional defects in the extremities is a difficult challenge. Many attempts have been made to reconstruct such defects using the chimeric flap concept, enabling flaps with larger surface areas to be used while maintaining economical tissue use. This study addresses how prosodic expectations affect perceptual discrimination. Prosodic expectations were created using natural recordings of six-syllable sentences in dactylic, iambic, and trochaic metrical patterns at two speech rates, slow and quick. PSOLA resynthesis was used to lengthen target syllables located in three different serial positions in each of the three patterns.
