Dihydromyricetin (DMY), as the main active ingredient in , is a naturally occurring flavonoid that has attracted extensive attention for its multiple biological activities. For the quick and accurate measurement of DMY, a novel electrochemical sensor based on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with a cobalt metal-organic framework (Co-MOF) was proposed in this work. The Co-MOF was synthesized via a single-step hydrothermal process using Co(NO)·6HO.

Article Synopsis
  • This research compares the effectiveness of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) and percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP) in treating osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF), focusing on post-operative pain and other outcomes.
  • After screening 1,933 studies from various databases, 30 articles were selected for analysis.
  • The findings indicated that while PKP significantly reduces the risk of cement leakage compared to PVP, there were no significant differences in pain levels or operation times between the two procedures.

In this study, a method for ultrasensitive sensing of Fe based on Fenton reaction mediated etching of triangular gold nanoplates (Au NPLs) was developed. In this assay, the etching of Au NPLs by HO was accelerated in the presence of Fe due to the generation of superoxide free radical (O) via Fenton reaction. With the concentration of Fe increased, the shape of Au NPLs changed from triangular to sphere with the blue shifted localized surface plasmon resonance, accompanying a series of consecutive color changes from blue, bluish purple, purple, reddish purple and finally to pink.

In this work, a La assisted glutathione-capped gold nanoclusters and carbon dots (GSH-Au NCs/CDs) nanoplatform for sensitive detection of fenthion (FEN) is fabricated. The fluorescence response of GSH-Au NCs significantly increases due to aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) effect induced by La, which is further enhanced with adding FEN due to the coordination between La and FEN. Taking the fluorescence intensity of CDs as the signal background, the ratiometric fluorescence of GSH-Au NCs and CDs has a good linear relationship with the FEN concentration from 0.

Objective: A sensitive and selective fluorescence-detection platform based on carbon quantum dots (CQDs) was designed and developed for the determination of methotrexate (MTX), for the purpose of minimizing the possible toxic threat of MTX in clinics.

Methods: The approach was prepared for the first time by a simple, hydrothermal method, making the synthesis and modification processes realized in one step using polyethyleneimine (PEI), and the proposed PEI-CQDs were obtained with high fluorescence quantum yield (38%).

Results: MTX was found highly responsive and effective in quenching the fluorescence of the PEI-CQDs, due to a suggested fluorescence resonance energy transfer mechanism or inner-filter effect.

(1) Background: Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are a new class of carbon nanomaterials with favorable features, such as tunable luminescence, unique optical properties, water solubility, and lack of cytotoxicity; they are readily applied in biomedicine. (2) Methods: S, N co-doped CQDs were prepared to develop a highly selective and sensitive fluorescence technique for the detection of methotrexate (MTX). For this purpose, citric acid and thiourea were used as C, N, and S sources in a single-step hydrothermal process to prepare the S, N co-doped CQDs, which displayed remarkable fluorescence properties.

Herein, a fluorescence "on-off" system was developed for monitoring carbendazim (CBZ) residues in fruit samples, based on glutathione-gold nanoclusters (GSH-Au NCs) and silver ions (Ag). First, the fluorescence intensity of GSH-Au NCs was greatly enhanced (turn on) with aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) effect in the presence of Ag, then fluorescence quenching occurred (turn off) with adding CBZ by the chelation between CBZ and Ag. The quenching degree was well linearly dependent on CBZ concentration covering from 0.

This study aimed to investigate the interactions between gluten and water-unextractable arabinoxylan (WUAX), which changed the conformation and aggregation of gluten during the thermal treatment. In this work, the interactions between water-unextractable arabinoxylan and wheat gluten during thermal treatment were extensively evaluated by different techniques. The results showed that the extra WUAX could impair the viscoelasticity as well as weaken the thermal properties of gluten.

In this paper, we constructed MIL-53 (AlOHbdc, bdc = benzene-1,4-dicarboxylate) /CNTs and Prussian blue (PB) as the double sensitization material of the sensing platform, in which the MIL-53/CNTs hybrid can not only increase the specific surface area but also increase the conductivity of the sensor and PB can play a role in amplifying electrical signals and accelerating electron transmission. Pyrrole was used as monomer and E2 was used as template for electropolymerization to form conductive film. Moreover, the overoxidation/dedoping elution method were used to simplify the experimental process.
