Magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) has been widely employed in the isolation and enrichment of antibiotics in complex matrices because it presents various unique advantages over traditional SPE including simple operation, fast extraction procedure, low cost and eco-friendliness. In recently years, magnetic molecularly imprinted nanoparticles (MMINs) containing highly specific recognition performance have been widely used to specific extraction of antibiotics under the format of MSPE. A new fluorinated imprinted adsorbent (MIA) for magnetic solid phase extraction (MSPE) of liquid crystal monomer (LCM) pollutants was one-pot prepared within 3.5 h using 4-[difluoro(3,4,5-trifluorophenoxy)methyl]-3,5-difluoro-4'-ethyl-biphenyl (DFBP) as template and 1H,1H,2H,2H-heptadecafluorodecyl acrylate/vinylanthracene as dual monomers. In order to shorten the process of textile printing with natural dyes, develop new methods, and improve the color fastness and quality of printed products, this study presents a novel approach by synthesizing a natural complex dye through the interaction between purpurin and Fe ions, resulting in a compound named purpurin-Fe (P-Fe). This synthesized complex dye was meticulously characterized using state-of-the-art analytical techniques, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometry, and scanning electron microscopy energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The characterization confirmed the successful complexation of purpurin with Fe ions.

In current study, a new adsorbent based on aminated phenol-formaldehyde composite was prepared using chitosan as modifier. Various techniques were adopted to characterize the morphology and structure of the prepared adsorbent. Due to the abundant amino groups, the obtained adsorbent presented satisfactory adsorption performance towards fluoroquinolones (FQs) and heavy metal ions (including Cu, Cd and Pb) by means of multiple forces including electrostatic, H-bonding, π-π stacking interactions (for FQs) and chelating force (for heavy metal ions).

Aging is a major risk factor of high incidence and increased mortality of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Here, we demonstrated that persistent lung injury and high mortality in aged mice after sepsis challenge were attributable to impaired endothelial regeneration and vascular repair. Genetic lineage tracing study showed that endothelial regeneration after sepsis-induced vascular injury was mediated by lung resident endothelial proliferation in young adult mice, whereas this intrinsic regenerative program was impaired in aged mice.
