The first polyoxometalate (POM)-encapsulated twenty-four-nucleus organophosphorus-copper nanocage cluster organic framework has been constructed. Here, the phosphomolybdate POMs were incorporated into an octahedral nanocage cluster organic framework, and the resulting material exhibited highly efficient bifunctional electrochemical performance. The crystalline material showed a high specific capacitance of 366.

To investigate the relativity between capacitor performance and crystal structure, herein, five new CCPs based on organophosphorus Strandberg-type clusters were synthesized via in situ hydrothermal reactions at different pH's, namely, (Hbipy)[(CHPO)MoO]·2HO (), (Hbipy)[Cu(bipy)(CHPO)MoO]·HO (), H[Cu(bipy)(CHPO)MoO]·2HO (), Na[CuCu(bipy)(CHPO)(MoO)]·15HO (), [Cu(bipy)(HO)(CHPO)MoO] () (bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine). Compound is a zero-dimensional monomer, in which the protonated bipy ligands as countercations combine Strandberg-type clusters by hydrogen bonding and π-π interaction forming a supramolecular layer.
