Methods: This is a retrospective study that obtained a continuous cohort from the databases of two hospitals (General Hospital of Southern Theater Command, and Guangdong Second Provincial General Hospital), including 522 patients with kidney stones who underwent Endoscopic Combined Intrarenal Surgery (ECIRS) from January 2015 to December 2022.The characteristics of the primary cohort between the SF (stone-free) and SR (stone residue) groups were identified using single factor and multivariate logistic regression analyses.

Chemotherapy-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) or "chemo brain" is a devastating neurotoxic sequela of cancer-related treatments, especially for the elderly individuals. Here we show that PTPRO, a tyrosine phosphatase, is highly enriched in the hippocampus, and its level is tightly associated with neurocognitive function but declined significantly during aging. To understand the protective role of PTPRO in CRCI, a mouse model was generated by treating Ptpro-/- female mice with doxorubicin (DOX) because Ptpro-/- female mice are more vulnerable to DOX, showing cognitive impairments and neurodegeneration.

The case of penetrating injury of the kidney caused by a foreign body mistakenly swallowing through the duodenum is rare. As an important member of T cytotoxic pathway-related genes, CD8a molecule (CD8A) may be a useful biomarker of immunotherapeutic response and immune cell infiltration. While TR4 nuclear receptor plays key roles to promote prostate cancer progression, its roles to alter the progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that TR4 can promote the ccRCC cell vasculogenic mimicry (VM) formation and its associated metastasis via modulating the miR490-3p/vimentin (VIM) signals. Mechanism dissection revealed that TR4 might increase the oncogene VIM expression via decreasing the miR-490-3p expression through direct binding to the TR4-response-elements (TR4REs) on the promoter region of miR-490-3p, which might then directly target the 3' UTR of VIM-mRNA to increase its protein expression.

Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data about "one-puncture one-needle" (the observation group) and "one-person one-needle" (the control group) TRUS-guided prostate biopsy performed in the Second People's Hospital of Guangdong Province from January 2005 to December 2015, and compared the incidence rates of puncture-related infection between the two strategies. By "one-puncture one-needle", one needle was used for one biopsy puncture, while by "one-person one-needle", one needle was used for all biopsy punctures in one patient and the needle was sterilized with iodophor after each puncture.
