Introduction: Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative disorder with diverse clinical presentations that are linked to tau pathology. Recently, Subtype and Stage Inference (SuStaIn) algorithm, an innovative data-driven method, has been developed to model both the spatial-temporal progression and subtypes of disease. This study explores PSP progression using F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) imaging and the SuStaIn algorithm to identify PSP metabolic progression subtypes and understand disease mechanisms.

Mobile phone addiction has become a widespread phenomenon in Chinese society, attracting significant social attention. However, there is still limited understanding of complexities and relationships concerning anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and mobile phone addiction (MPA) among college students. To better understand the relationships among depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and mobile phone addiction, the aim of this study was to explore these relationships, analyze the factors influencing mobile phone addiction, and examine the mediating effects of anxiety and self-esteem on the relationship between depression and mobile phone addiction.

Purpose: Lewy body dementia (LBD) is a neurodegenerative disease with high heterogeneity and complex pathogenesis. Our study aimed to use disease progression modeling to uncover spatial-temporal dynamic evolution of LBD in vivo, and to explore differential profiles of clinical features, glucose metabolism, and dopaminergic function among different evolution-related subtypes.

Methods: A total of 123 participants (31 healthy controls and 92 LBD patients) who underwent F-FDG PET scans were retrospectively enrolled.

Background: Measuring the development of Chinese centers for disease control and prevention only by analyzing human resources for health seems incomplete. Moreover, previous studies have focused more on the quantitative changes in healthcare resources and ignored its determinants. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the allocation of healthcare resources in Chinese centers for disease control and prevention from the perspective of population and spatial distribution, and to further explore the characteristics and influencing factors of the spatial distribution of healthcare resources.

Purpose: To assess the anxiety and depression and their predictors among healthcare workers in Liaoning Province, China.

Methods: In order to explore the influencing factors and prevalence of anxiety and depression among healthcare workers, a cross-sectional research design was used to survey 500 healthcare workers using the 14-item Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the Survey of Perceived Organizational Support (SPOS).

Results: About 47.

Background: As future health workers, medical students' attitudes towards tuberculosis (TB) patients can impact TB control. However, in China, there is a lack of well-quantified assessment regarding the stigma among medical students towards TB patients. Therefore, this study aimed to validate the Chinese version of the Tuberculosis related-Stigma Scale (TSS) in medical students and to apply the scale to measure stigma and its determinants.

Article Synopsis
  • * A study involved analyzing data from lung cancer patients and healthy individuals to determine the effectiveness of individual and combined tumor markers using ROC curve analysis.
  • * Five tumor markers were tested, revealing that while single markers had limited effectiveness, combinations like CEA + CA125 showed the highest accuracy for screening in healthy participants, with decent sensitivity and specificity for lung cancer detection.

Background: Health workers play a central role in global tuberculosis (TB) elimination efforts. If medical students have prejudiced attitudes toward TB patients, this may make it difficult for them to provide effective health care to TB patients in their future roles as health workers. There is currently no research on prejudice toward TB patients among medical students in China.

Introduction: Nurses experience significant physical and psychological stress that negatively influences their psychological well-being. The objective of this study was to explore the association between self-efficacy and psychological well-being among Chinese nurses and to assess the moderating effects of perceived social support (PSS).

Methods: In 2020, a hospital-based cross-sectional study using a multistage random sampling approach was performed in five regions of Liaoning, China.

Article Synopsis
  • * The study analyzed 51 MSA patients and 20 healthy controls using F-FDG and C-CFT PET scans to examine brain glucose metabolism and dopaminergic function, distinguishing between patients with and without OH.
  • * Results indicated significant metabolic differences in specific brain regions associated with OH in MSA patients, alongside reduced dopaminergic function, suggesting these brain changes may contribute to the symptom of OH.

Article Synopsis
  • Presynaptic dopaminergic PET imaging is a key diagnostic tool for distinguishing between various parkinsonism conditions, such as idiopathic Parkinson's disease and other related disorders.
  • Current PET tracers primarily focus on dopamine transporters, AADC, and VMAT2, but there is a need for established guidelines on how these imaging procedures should be performed and interpreted.
  • An international consensus from a multidisciplinary expert group aims to create standardized recommendations for the use of presynaptic dopaminergic PET imaging in clinical practice, helping to ensure consistency and accuracy in diagnosis.

Objective: Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) involves a variety of visual symptoms that are thought to be partially caused by structural abnormalities of the retina. However, the relationship between retinal structural changes, disease severity, and intracranial alterations remains unknown. We investigated distinct retinal thinning patterns and their relationship with clinical severity and intracranial alterations in a PSP cohort.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) and drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) are serious global public health problems. This study aimed to explore the differences in drug resistance between DR-TB patients with and without DM. Risk factors for developing multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) were also investigated among DR-TB patients.

Purpose: The emergence of drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) represents a threat to the control of tuberculosis. This study aimed to estimate the patterns and trends of DR-TB in patients with suspected DR-TB. In addition, risk factors for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) were identified among suspected DR-TB patients in Dalian, China.

Purpose: Positron emission tomography (PET) with the first and only tau targeting radiotracer of F-flortaucipir approved by FDA has been increasingly used in depicting tau pathology deposition and distribution in patients with cognitive impairment. The goal of this international consensus is to help nuclear medicine practitioners procedurally perform F-flortaucipir PET imaging.

Method: A multidisciplinary task group formed by experts from various countries discussed and approved the consensus for F-flortaucipir PET imaging in Alzheimer's disease (AD), focusing on clinical scenarios, patient preparation, and administered activities, as well as image acquisition, processing, interpretation, and reporting.

Background: PET imaging has been widely used in diagnosis of neurological disorders; however, its application to pediatric population is limited due to lacking pediatric age-specific PET template. This study aims to develop a pediatric age-specific PET template (PAPT) and conduct a pilot study of epileptogenic focus localization in pediatric epilepsy.

Methods: We recruited 130 pediatric patients with epilepsy and 102 age-matched controls who underwent F-FDG PET examination.

Purpose: Epilepsy is one of the most disabling neurological disorders, which affects all age groups and often results in severe consequences. Since misdiagnoses are common, many pediatric patients fail to receive the correct treatment. Recently, F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-FDG PET) imaging has been used for the evaluation of pediatric epilepsy.
