Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a challenging inflammatory gastrointestinal disorder, whose therapies encounter limitations in overcoming insufficient colonic retention and rapid systemic clearance. In this study, we report an innovative polymeric prodrug nanoformulation for targeted UC treatment through sustained 5-aminosalicylic acid (5-ASA) delivery. Amphiphilic polymer-based 13.

In this work, we report a loop polyzwitterionic coating that exhibits excellent resistance to protein adsorption. Triblock and diblock copolymers of 2-[(2-hydroxyethyl)disulfanyl]ethyl methacrylate) (HSEMA) and 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (DMAEMA) were synthesized by atom-transferred radical polymerization, followed by betainization of the DMAEMA block with 1,3-propane sultone and reduction of the disulfide bond in HSEMA to yield a triblock copolymer comprising a zwitterionic poly(sulfobetaine methacrylate) (PSBMA) midblock and poly(2-sulfanylethyl methacrylate) (PSEMA) terminal blocks as well as its diblock analogue that was of the same composition as the former and half the chain length.

With the rapid expansion of urban built-up areas in recent years, accurate and long time series monitoring of urban built-up areas is of great significance for healthy urban development and efficient governance. As the basic carrier of urban activities, the accurate monitoring of urban built-up areas can also assist in the formulation of urban planning. Previous studies on urban built-up areas mainly focus on the analysis of a single time section, which makes the extraction results exist with a certain degree of contingency.

In this work, PDA nanoparticles of 15, 60, 90, and 200 nm sizes were synthesized and carboxyl, methoxy, and amine groups were introduced to the particle surface to control their surface charges, and then the penetration and accumulation of these PDA nanoparticles in biofilms were investigated. The PDA nanoparticles of approximately 60 nm size (PDA60) showed higher penetration and accumulation abilities than nanoparticles of other sizes, and the positively charged amine groups introduced onto the surfaces of PDA60 nanoparticles were more effective than carboxyl or methoxy groups in promoting the interactions of the nanoparticles with the biofilm.

In this work, we have developed a COF with a low band gap by integrating electron-deficient thienoisoindigo and electron-rich triphenylamine. The intramolecular charge-transfer effect combining the extended length of the π-conjugated backbone of COF endow it with broad absorption even to the second near-infrared region.

Previous studies on delineating urban-rural boundaries were only based on the level of urban and rural development reflected by night-time light (NTL) data, ignoring the differences in the spatial development between urban and rural areas; so, the comprehensive consideration of NTL and point of interest (POI) data can help improve the accuracy of urban-rural boundary delineation. In this study, the NTL and POI data were fused using wavelet transform, and then the urban-rural boundary before and after data fusion was delineated by multiresolution segmentation.

Herein, we successfully developed a series of COFs based on electron donor-acceptor strategy in mild conditions. The synthetic COFs exhibit excellent colloidal stability with uniform spherical morphology.

Through the point of interest (POI), the identification framework is constructed, the spatial structure of the city is identified and evaluated, and the Geographically Weighted Regression analysis is carried out with the distribution of unit GDP (Gross Domestic Product) in this study. The research shows that Kunming and Guiyang are polycentric spatial structures and Kunming's structure is more significant.

Long-chain branched poly (lactic acid) (LCB-PLA) with antimicrobial functional group was fabricated through a two-step ring-opening reactive processing for improving antimicrobial properties and broadening the PLA processing window. A combination of linear viscoelasticity and the branch-on-branch (BOB) model predicted probable compositions and chain topologies of the products. It is also explored the antimicrobial properties of LCB-PLA to provide a theoretical basis for broadening the possible applications.
