The diagnosis of lymph node metastasis (LNM) is essential for colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment. The primary method of identifying LNM is to perform frozen sections and pathologic analysis, but this method is labor-intensive and time-consuming. Therefore, combining intraoperative fluorescence imaging with deep learning (DL) methods can improve efficiency.

However, it remains largely unknown that how transcription factors directly sense HO in eukaryotes. Here, we report that rice basic/helix-loop-helix transcription factor bHLH25 directly senses HO to confer resistance to multiple diseases caused by fungi or bacteria.

While it is difficult to early detect because of the sporadic occurrence of initial freezing events. Whether the characteristic of gait impairments in PD patients with FOG during the 'interictal' period is different from that in non-FOG patients is still unclear.

In this study, we used Mendelian randomization (MR) to identify a novel cancer susceptibility gene, Trimethylguanosine Synthase 1 (TGS1). TGS1-induced hypermethylation at the 5' end of human telomerase RNA (hTR) impedes hTR accumulation, decreasing telomerase assembly factor levels and thus limiting telomere elongation, a crucial factor in tumor progression.

We employed Mendelian randomization (MR) to investigate potential causal links between SS and CVD in the general population.
Methods: We conducted a two-sample MR analysis using data from four distinct sources for 11 genome-wide significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with SS and data for 13 types of CVD sourced from FinnGen, IEU OpenGWAS, and GWAS catalog.

The loss and gain of OsNAS3 function both positively influence plant disease resistance. Overexpression of OsNAS3 boosts blast resistance by promoting nicotianamine accumulation, thereby enhancing blast resistance. Conversely, knockout of OsNAS3 increases ethylene biosynthesis, also contributing to improved blast resistance.

This study evaluates the incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), hepatic decompensation, and all-cause mortality among Chinese hepatitis C patients treated with DAAs. We included patients diagnosed since 2011 and followed them until November 1, 2022.

The Ideal Plant Architecture 1 (IPA1) transcription factor promotes rice yield and immunity through phosphorylation at its amino acid residue Ser163 as a switch. Although phosphorylated IPA1 mimic, IPA1(S163D), directly targets the promoter of immune response gene WRKY45, it cannot activate its expression. Here, we identified a co-activator of IPA1(S163D), a RING-finger E3 ligase IPA1 interactor 7 (IPI7), which fine-tunes the transcriptional activity of IPA1 to timely promote plant immunity and simultaneously maintain growth for yield.

Calcium oxide (CaO) carbon capture is an appealing choice because of its affordability, large potential capacity, and ability to withstand the high temperatures of flue gases.

Nonetheless, commercially available orthopaedic scaffolds have shown limited therapeutic effects for large bone defects, especially for massiveand irregular defects. Additively manufactured porous tantalum, in particular, has emerged as a promising material for such scaffolds and is widely used in orthopaedics for its exceptional biocompatibility, osteoinduction, and mechanical properties.

Thus, in crop plants, their agronomic traits, especially the grain quality are usually ignored. Here, we characterized a rice mutant named () that shows autoimmunity, broad-spectrum disease resistance and growth deterioration including decreased rice quality.

Amantadine is the main drug recommended for the treatment of LID by current guidelines, but it is far from meeting clinical needs. Tianqi Pingchan Granule (TPG), a compound Chinese herbal medicine, has been developed to relieve symptom of LID.

In rice, DWARF 53 directly binds to the promoters of seven phenylalanine ammonia lyase genes, OsPAL1˜OsPAL7, and represses their expression, leading to decreased lignin accumulation and compromised resistance against Magnaporthe oryzae.

Nevertheless, their high surface energy leads to nonspecific adsorption and poor colloidal stability. In the past decades, we have found that QD-based fluorescent nanoparticles (FNs) can not only address these limitations but also enhance detection sensitivity.

Among them, ONOO level fluctuation was closely related to diabetes. Hence, it is of great significance to develop a near-infrared fluorescence probe for visualizing ONOO level fluctuations in diabetes.

Effective early treatments are urgently needed to prevent OA progression. The excessive amount of transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) is one of the major causes of synovial fibrosis and subchondral bone sclerosis, and such pathogenic changes in early OA precede cartilage damage.

Here, we identified that the MORN motif-containing proteins, OsMORN1 and OsMORN2, had a crucial role in maintaining pollen fertility. Compared with the wild type (WT), the pollen viability of the osmorn1 and osmorn2 mutants was reduced, and pollen germination was abnormal, resulting in significantly lower spikelet fertility, seed-setting rate, and grain yield per plant.

This case report details a rare thymic basaloid carcinoma initially misinterpreted as a mediastinal teratoma, underscoring the diagnostic challenges posed by such tumors. A 71-year-old female presented with an asymptomatic anterior mediastinal tumor discovered incidentally during a routine health examination. Surgical intervention, followed by pathological and immunohistochemical analysis including CK-pan, p63, p40, and CD117 molecules, led to a definitive diagnosis of basaloid carcinoma of the thymus.
