Background : The traditional tool for predicting distant metastasis in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is still insufficient. We aimed to establish an interpretable machine learning model for predicting distant metastasis in RCC patients.
Methods: We involved a population-based cohort of 121433 patients (mean age = 63 years; 63.
Alzheimer's Disease (AD) is a neurodegenerative disorder marked by cognitive decline, for which effective treatments remain elusive due to complex pathogenesis. Recent advances in neuroimaging, gene therapy, and gut microbiota research offer new insights and potential intervention strategies. Neuroimaging enables early detection and staging of AD through visualization of biomarkers, aiding diagnosis and tracking of disease progression.

Methods: From 1990 to 2019, we employed the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) Results Tool in conjunction with an age-period-cohort model. This approach facilitated the estimation of annual percentage changes in incidence, referred to as net drifts, encompassing the overall population.
Background: Heart failure combined with hypertension is a major contributor for elderly patients (≥ 65 years) to in-hospital mortality. However, there are very few models to predict in-hospital mortality in such elderly patients. We aimed to develop and test an individualized machine learning model to assess risk factors and predict in-hospital mortality in in these patients.

OsYABBY6 is a rice YABBY gene, whose function is not well elucidated so far. In this paper, we show that OsYABBY6 is a nucleus-localized protein with transcriptional activation activity.

Background: Magnesium is closely associated with depression. The study aims to explore the relationship between magnesium depletion score (MDS), used to evaluate the body's magnesium deficiency status, and depression.
Methods: This population-based cross-sectional study used data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey in 2005-2018 and included adults aged 20 to 60 years.
Background: Elderly patients are more likely to suffer from severe ischemic stroke (IS) and have worse outcomes, including death and disability. We aimed to develop and validate predictive models using novel machine learning algorithms for the 3-month mortality in elderly patients with IS admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study.

Purpose: This cross-sectional study conducted in the general US population investigated the association between dietary intake of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and the prevalence of AMD.
Methods: Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) were utilized, including 4,842 participants aged 40 years and older. Dietary EPA and DHA intake data were collected through two 24-h dietary recall interviews and adjusted for weight.
Background: Atrial fibrillation and flutter, collectively referred to as AF/AFL, pose substantial public health challenges across nations of different economic statuses.
Abjective: This research is intended to assess the discrepancies in global, regional, and national trends in DALYs for atrial fibrillation and flutter throughout 1990 and 2019.
Methods: The GBD 2019 report included statistics on AF/AFL.
Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the risk factors that influence metastasis and prognosis in patients with nodular melanoma (NM), as well as to develop and validate a prognostic model using artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.
Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database was queried for 4,727 patients with NM based on the inclusion/exclusion criteria. Their clinicopathological characteristics were retrospectively reviewed, and logistic regression analysis was utilized to identify risk factors for metastasis.
Objective: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic systemic autoimmune disease. Among its various complications, heart failure (HF) has been recognized as the second leading cause of cardiovascular death in RA patients. The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between RA and HF using epidemiological and genetic approaches.

Our study aimed to investigate the linear and non-linear associations between WWI and all-cause mortality in non-Asian populations in the United States, and whether WWI was superior to traditional obesity indicators as a predictor of all-cause mortality.
Methods: We conducted a cohort study using data from the 2011-2018 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), involving 18,592 participants.
To investigate the mechanism by which high-dose vitamin C (HVC) promotes ferroptosis in tumor cells via network pharmacology, vitamin C-related and ferroptosis-related targets were obtained from the PharmMapper and GeneCards databases, respectively, and their common targets were compared using the Venn diagram. Common targets were imported into the STRING database for protein-protein interaction analysis, and core targets were defined. Core targets were enriched for Gene Ontology terms and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways using the R language packages.

Methods: In this study, participants were selected from the datasets of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) between 1999 to 2018 years.
Objectives: Maintaining ideal cardiovascular health (CVH) is believed to have potential anti-aging benefits. The American Heart Association (AHA) recently updated the "Life's Essential 8 (LE8)" metrics to measure ideal CVH, but its connection with the anti-aging protein klotho is still unclear. We aimed to explore the relationship between ideal cardiovascular health and serum anti-aging protein klotho in a nationally representative US middle-aged and older population.

River water pollution and ecological degradation have gradually emerged with urbanization and rapid economic development, and BOW has become frequent. The black-odorous evolution of urban water bodies is a serious environmental problem in many areas, posing a serious threat to both human health and the ecological environment.

Herein, a co-pyrolysis product of contaminated dredged sediment (S@BC) was innovatively applied to cap and immobilize Cd-contaminated sediment in coastal rivers in situ, and their remediation efficiencies, mechanisms, and microbial responses were explored based on a 360 d incubation experiment. The results showed that although S@BC immobilization and capping restrained sediment Cd release to the overlying water, S@BC capping presented a high inhibitory efficiency (66.
