Listeriosis is a relatively rare but severe foodborne disease, which has significant public health concern of persons with underlying conditions and pregnant women. This study aimed to estimate the morbidity, mortality, and fatality rates of listeriosis over a 10-year period and clarify the epidemiological features of the pathogen in Beijing, China, based on voluntary reporting of sentinel surveillance. A total of 228 listeriosis cases were reported with annual morbidity rate of 1.

During the 2019 Chinese National Microbiological Food Safety Surveillance program, was detected in ice cream samples produced by Manufacturer A. By comparing the sequences of isolates derived from the ice cream with those of isolates derived from humans, we identified one human-derived isolate that was genetically indistinguishable from one ice cream-derived isolates. The patient was hospitalized with listeriosis in Beijing, China in March 2019.

This study investigated the effects of varying light intensities (20, 100, 200, and 300 μ mol/m²/s) on the performance of MBGS in urban wastewater treatment, with a particular focus on glycogen accumulation and pollutant removal. The results demonstrated that light intensity significantly influenced microbial community structure, glycogen accumulation, and pollutant removal efficiency.

Ozone is a potent disinfectant widely employed for the inactivation of pathogens, yet comprehensive reports detailing the virucidal efficacy of hydroxyl radical (•OH) generated during ozonation are limited. The present research meticulously deciphered the role and influencing factors of •OH during ozone disinfection processes, elucidating how •OH enhanced ozone-mediated virus inactivation from both kinetic and molecular biological perspectives.

In this study, we demonstrate that SFPQ lacking its nuclear localisation sequence spontaneously forms cytoplasmic aggregates that abnormally incorporate immature RNA and induce persistent SGs. mRNA profiling showed that SFPQ mislocalisation induced extensive changes in RNA processing, with a subset of alternatively spliced transcripts associated with nucleocytoplasmic transport.

This study aimed to identify the hub genes in an SAE mouse model following UTI intervention and investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms.
Materials And Methods: Through differential expression analysis to obtain differentially expressed genes (DEGs), ie, UTI vs CLP (DEGs1) and Con vs CLP (DEGs2).
The discharge of oily wastewater not only pollutes waters but also deteriorates our living environment. Superhydrophobic cotton fabric is considered as an important remedy material for oily wastewater cleanup due to outstanding advantages including low cost, high porosity and switchable wettability. However, the existing superhydrophobic fabrics cannot exhibit durable superhydrophobicity during real-life applications due to poor interaction between the coatings and fabric substrates.

In addition, as Chinese individuals and Chinese organizations generally attach importance to authority, exploring the matching effect of individual authoritarian personality and organizational culture (OC) can provide information for career selection, talent recruitment and university enrollment. The present study aimed to test associations between authoritarian personality traits (right-wing authoritarian, RWA; social dominance orientation, SDO) and subjective well-being (SWB; including positive affect, PA; negative affect, NA; and life satisfaction, LS) at the general and component-specific levels and the possible moderating role of OC (military or nonmilitary universities) on the associations in Chinese culture for the first time.

Physical activity (PA) is a modifiable health behavior that has been identified as a potential correlate of subjective well-being. However, the underlying mechanisms that connect PA to subjective well-being are not well-understood.

However, more information is required to understand the patterns of light-intensity physical activity and postprandial cardiometabolic health.
Objective: This study examined the effects of different light-intensity walking patterns on postprandial cardiometabolic responses in young obese adults.
Reactive electrochemical membranes (REMs) are promising technologies in treating pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) in water. Herein, a novel carbon-based electrocatalytic dual-membrane system was designed to exploit the whole redox process of electrodes, in which the membrane cathode and anode were formed by carbon fibers doped with Fe and metal organic frameworks derived SnO, respectively. Propranolol (PRO) was used as a representative of PPCPs.

However, achieving the implantation of donor or acceptor moieties at molecule level precision remains challenging. Here we develop a three-dimensional (3D) porous thiophene implanted carbon nitride (TCN) with donor-acceptor structure via a supramolecular assembly strategy.

These studies assessed the impact of various application rates of γ-PGA on soil water characteristic parameters. Orthogonal simulation experiments on soil bulk density, γ-PGA application rates, and burial depths were performed utilizing predefined soil water characteristic values (twelve groups: nine groups of numerical simulation experiments and three groups of laboratory verification tests), and the soil infiltration characteristics were analyzed.

Anaerobic digestion is an indispensable technical option towards green and low-carbon wastewater treatment, with interspecies electron transfer (IET) playing a key role in its efficiency and operational stability. The exogenous semiconductive iron oxides have been proven to effectively enhance IET, while the cognition of the physicochemical-biochemical coupling stimulatory mechanism was circumscribed and remains to be elucidated. In this study, semiconductive iron oxides, α-FeO, γ-FeO, α-FeOOH, and γ-FeOOH were found to significantly enhance syntrophic methanogenesis by 76.
