Aims And Objectives: To explore the effects of the health failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA) used in intrahospital transport (IHT) of critically ill patients from emergency department (ED) to the intensive care unit (ICU).
Background: Patients who were transported from ED to ICU is highly critical. IHT of these patients is potentially risky, which may associate with adverse events (AEs).
Artificial sweeteners have raised emerging concern due to their potential threats to human health, which were frequently detected in aquatic environment with median concentrations. Although current researches have widely reported that ultraviolet light-activated persulfate process (UV/PS) was superior to UV/HO process for the degradation of refractory organic contaminants, UV/HO process presented a more satisfactory saccharin (SAC) removal efficiency than UV/PS process, completely degraded 20 mg/L SAC within 45 min. Hence, quenching and probe experiments were employed to investigate the difference between hydroxyl radical (OH)- and sulfate radical (SO)-mediated oxidation mechanisms, which revealed the higher reactivity of OH (1.

Influenced by microenvironment, human peritoneal mesothelial cells (HPMCs) acquired fibrotic phenotype, which was identified as the protagonist for peritoneal fibrosis. In this study, we examined the role of histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) for interleukin-6 (IL-6) induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), proliferation, and migration of HPMCs. The role of HDAC6 in IL-6-elicited EMT of HPMCs was tested by morphological observation of light microscope, immunoblotting, and immune-fluorescence assay; and the function of HDAC6 in proliferation and migration of HPMCs was examined by CCK-8 assay, wound healing experiment, and immunoblotting.

The WDS was divided into different sub-service areas based on different electrical conductivity of two water sources. Results clearly show that the principal halogenated DBPs were trihalomethanes (THMs) (5.

Peritoneal fibrosis (PF) is a major cause of ultrafiltration failure in long-term peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients. Nevertheless, limited measures have been shown to be effective for the prevention and treatment of PF. Some views reveal that activation of autophagy ameliorates PF but others demonstrate that autophagy promotes PF.

This study was to assess clozapine-induced metformin-resistant prediabetes/diabetes and its correlation with clinical efficacy in schizophrenia E-TR subtype.
Methods: This prospective cohort study enrolled 230 patients with schizophrenia E-TR subtype and they were treated with adequate doses of clozapine for 16 weeks, during which patients with prediabetes/diabetes were assigned to receive add-on metformin.
is a worldwide pest afflicting edible vegetables and has developed varying levels of resistance to insecticides. Methoxyfenozide (MET), an ecdysteroid agonist, is effective against lepidopteran pests such as . However, the mechanism of MET to remains unclear.

Memories triggered by ambiguous cues may be altered or biased into a more negative perception in psychiatric diseases. Understanding the formation and modulation of this probabilistic association is important for revealing the nature of aversive memory and alterations in brain diseases.

In this study, we investigate the evolution of dust heterogeneous chemical process and its potential impacts on gaseous and aerosol components during a dust pollution episode from March 27 to April 2, 2015 over North China. Based on field measurements, the significant role of relative humidity (RH) in dust heterogeneous chemistry is found and a RH-dependent parameterization for uptake coefficients of HNO and SO is incorporated in GEOS-Chem to reproduce the dust heterogeneous chemical process.

Various omics results have been reported for COVID-19, but the molecular hallmarks of COVID-19, especially in those patients without comorbidities, have not been fully investigated. Here we collect blood samples from 231 COVID-19 patients, prefiltered to exclude those with selected comorbidities, yet with symptoms ranging from asymptomatic to critically ill.

The present study combined clinical data and basic experiments to investigate the impact of baseline PSTR and the underlying molecular mechanisms. A total of 204 incident CAPD patients from four PD centres in Shanghai between 1 January 2014 and 30 September 2020 were grouped based on a peritoneal equilibration test after the first month of dialysis.

Here, we report a star-shaped polymer to improve charge transport and inhibit ion migration at the perovskite interface. The incorporation of multiple chemical anchor sites in the star-shaped polymer branches strongly controls the crystallization of perovskite film with lower trap density and higher carrier mobility and thus inhibits the nonradiative recombination and reduces the charge-transport loss.

AKI is also a complication of COVID-19 patients and is associated with an increased risk of death. In recent years, numerous studies have suggested that epigenetic regulation is critically involved in the pathophysiological process and prognosis of AKI.

However, neither parent-of-origin-specific transcription nor imprints have been comprehensively mapped at the blastocyst stage of preimplantation development. Here, we address this by integrating transcriptomic and epigenomic approaches in mouse preimplantation embryos.

Here we show that the discrepancy can be substantially reduced by correcting sampling biases induced by inherent limitations of satellite measurements, which tend to artificially discard the clouds with high cloud fraction. Those missed clouds exert a stronger cooling effect, and are more sensitive to aerosol perturbations.

In this study, two control indexes were selected and examined systematically in pilot-scale shallow open-water unit (SOWU) ponds for domestic effluent polishing: micropollutants and biotoxicities. The total risk quotient (RQ ≤ 1) and effect-based trigger value (EBT) were set as the thresholds for known micropollutants and biological effects, respectively.

Using microbes to produce higher alcohols from renewable biomass can alleviate the current energy and environmental crises, and has become a major future direction for green biomanufacturing. Since natural microbes can only produce a few higher alcohols in small amounts, it is necessary to reconstruct the synthetic pathways for higher alcohols in model industrial strains through metabolic engineering and synthetic biology to overcome the metabolic bottlenecks.

The high frequent mutation of family with sequence similarity 46, member C (FAM46C) is closely related with the occurrence and progression of MM. Recently, FAM46C has been identified as a non-canonical poly(A) polymerase (PAP) that functions as a tumor suppressor in MM.
