The treatment of infected diabetic wounds remains a significant clinical challenge due to pathogen infection, excessive inflammation, and impaired angiogenesis with troubled extracellular matrix (ECM) - cell and cell - cell interaction. Herein, we prepared a Janus polypeptide-engineered hydrogel with programmable function driven by self-assembly of the same A domain. The hydrogel was composed of a V8-degradable ACA layer loaded with hybrid phages (ABC) for precise bacterial inhibition and a PCARGD layer loaded with Mn-based mineralized erythrocyte (PEM) for continuous supply oxygen on demand.

Inhibiting copper transporter ATPase (ATP7A) was found to disrupt copper ion homeostasis, thereby enhancing the effect of cuproptosis and eventually inhibiting tumor invasion and metastasis. In this study, we develop a multifunctional nanoplatfrom based on CuS (CAPSH), designed to enhance cuproptosis in tumor cells by specifically targeting ATP7A interference, while combining thermodynamic therapy with immune effects.

Methods: This retrospective prognostic study included HIV/AIDS patients with cryptococcosis in the Fourth People's Hospital of Nanning from October 2011 to June 2019. Clinical features were extracted and used to train ten machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, KNN, DT, RF, Adaboost, Xgboost, LightGBM, Catboost, SVM, and NBM, to predict the outcome of HIV patients with cryptococcosis infection.
A chiral-at-metal Rh(III) complex-mediated [2+1] cyclization of vinyl sulfoxonium ylides with α,β-unsaturated 2,2-acylimidazoles has been demonstrated for the first time. This work provides a practical approach for assembling 1,2,3-trisubstituted chiral cyclopropane with alkyl structural units, which had advantages such as a wide range of substrates, good functional group tolerance, and mild reaction conditions. In addition, further amplification experiments and transformation of cycloaddition products were carried out to highlight the practicality of the method.

Methods: Retrospective data on pulmonary GGNs were collected from multiple centers across China, including North, Northeast, Northwest, South, and Southwest China. The data were divided into a training set and a validation set in an 8:2 ratio.
Metformin is an important antidiabetic drug that has the potential to reduce skeletal muscle atrophy and promote the differentiation of muscle cells. However, the exact molecular mechanism underlying these functions remains unclear. Previous studies revealed that the transcription factor zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1), which participates in tumor progression, inhibits muscle atrophy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFImmunotherapies for cancer, specifically immune checkpoint inhibition (ICI), have shown potential in reactivating the body's immune response against tumors. However, there are challenges to overcome in addressing drug resistance and improving the effectiveness of these treatments. Recent research has highlighted the relationship between ferroptosis and the immune system within immune cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME), suggesting that combining targeted ferroptosis with immunotherapy could enhance anti-tumor effects.

Metabolites derived from the intestinal microbiota are essential in maintaining skeletal muscle function and metabolism. The energy produced by mitochondria and moderate levels of reactive oxygen species can contribute to this process.

The introduction of semi-leafless pea varieties is considered a seminal advancement in pea breeding over the past half-century. The afila (af) mutation leads to the replacement of lateral leaflets by highly branched tendrils; combined with the semi-dwarfing le mutation, it forms the semi-leafless cultivated variety.

Herein, a phage vehicle, T4-Lox-DNA-Fe (TLDF), which adeptly modulates enzyme numbers using phage display technology to remodel the tumor microenvironment (TME) is presented. Regarding the demand for lactic acid in tumors, each phage is engineered to display 720 lactate oxidase (Lox), contributing to the depletion of lactic acid to restructure the tumor's energy metabolism.

Ferroptosis, a type of non-apoptotic cell death, is characterized by the accumulation of iron and the oxidation of lipids. Studies have revealed that the levels of reactive oxygen species and glutathione in CRC cells are significantly lower than those in healthy colon cells.

Using tetrabutyl titanate as a titanium source, TiO nanomaterial was prepared by sol-gel method. In the presence of TiO, TiO/COF core-shell composite was prepared by solvothermal synthesis using melamine and 1,4-phthalaldehyde as ligands.

However, epidemiological data have failed to quickly identify the source and transmission of the outbreak. Here, phylogeny and molecular evolution of 10 monkeypox virus (MPXV) genome sequences from the Guangdong outbreak were characterized, revealing local silent transmissions that may have occurred in Guangdong whose mpox outbreaks suggested a molecular epidemiological correlation with Portugal and several regions of China during the same period.

In order to explore the mechanism of 4,8-DHT inhibiting weed activity, we treated three species of , and with different concentrations of 4,8-DHT and performed phenotype observation and transcriptome sequencing. The results showed that with an increase in 4,8-DHT concentration, the degree of plant damage gradually deepened.

The thermal resistance of airborne SARS-CoV-2 is lower than that of spores, which are often used to test the effectiveness of SARS-CoV-2 and other pathogen disinfection methods. Herein, we propose a new method to test the disinfection ability of a flowing air disinfector (a digital electromagnetic induction air heater) using spores.

Auxin is essential for regulating plant growth and development as well as the response of plants to abiotic stresses. AUX/LAX proteins are auxin influx transporters belonging to the amino acid permease family of proton-driven transporters, and are involved in the transport of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA). However, how genes respond to abiotic stresses in Chinese hickory is less studied.
