Aims: This study aimed to investigate the impact of the triglyceride-glucose index (TyG index) on clinical consequences in individuals with large vascular occlusion (LVO)-induced acute ischemic stroke (AIS) following endovascular treatment (EVT).

Methods: We conducted a single-center retrospective cohort study, including AIS with LVO who underwent EVT. Patients were categorized into TyG index groups, calculated as "(fasting triglyceride [mg/dL] × fasting blood glucose [mg/dL]/2).

CDK1 is an oncogenic serine/threonine kinase known to play an important role in the regulation of the cell cycle. FOXM1, as one of the CDK1 substrates, requires binding of CDK1/CCNB1 complex for phosphorylation-dependent recruitment of p300/CBP coactivators to mediate transcriptional activity. Previous studies from our laboratory found that a novel peptide (M1-20) derived from the C-terminus of FOXM1 exhibited potent inhibitory effects for cancer cells.

Article Synopsis
  • * The study presents a method using a synthetic ligand (naphthyridine dimer) to enhance protein nanopore analysis for detecting GG mismatches in DNA fragments.
  • * This approach successfully slows down the movement of ligand-bound DNA in nanopores, allowing for better detection of mismatches, especially those near the ends of DNA fragments, which are typically hard to identify with standard methods.

Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) combined with fluoxetine in enhancing the early antidepressant response in first-episode adolescent depression cases, providing insights for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Methods: One hundred and thirty-five adolescents experiencing their first depressive episode were randomly assigned to either a sham group treated with fluoxetine or to low or high repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) groups receiving both rTMS and fluoxetine. Therapeutic effects were assessed by comparing changes in Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD-17) scores, cognitive function scores from the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST), and Clinical Global Impression-improvement (CGI-I) scores, along with recording adverse reactions.

Aim: This study was conducted in Urumqi, Xinjiang, to assess the prevalence of sarcopenia and to determine the relationship between physical activity, nutritional status, and sarcopenia among community-dwelling patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Methods: Four hundred eight cases of older people patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the community in Urumqi, Xinjiang, from May to August 2022 were selected for a cross-sectional on-site survey, and general information questionnaires, clinical information surveys, physical function measurements, and criteria developed by the Asian sarcopenia working group in 2019 were selected for diagnosis of sarcopenia, and unifactorial and multifactorial binary Logistic regression were applied to analyze the influencing factors of T2DM combined with sarcopenia in patients with sarcopenia.

Results: Among the 408 patients, 84 (20.

Purpose: This research was conducted to construct an ankle pump motion counter and system with orthopedic characteristics and analyze the impacts of fast-track surgery on postoperative deep venous thrombosis (DVT) among patients with lower limb fractures.

Methods: First, an ankle pump motion counter system was set up to detect postoperative rehabilitation training (Hardware design: This involves components such as an accelerometer sensor, microcontroller, circuit design, power supply, and wireless module. The accelerometer sensor is used to monitor key points and capture motion signals, while the microcontroller handles frequency calculations and generates alerts for abnormal ankle pump motion parameters.

Breast cancer risk have been discussed to be associated with polymorphisms in genes as well as abnormal DNA damage repair function. This study aims to assess the relationship between genes single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) related to DNA damage repair and female breast cancer risk in Chinese population. A case-control study containing 400 patients and 400 healthy controls was conducted.

Background: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) is the main cause of low back pain (LBP), but the specific regulatory factors, pathways and specific molecular mechanisms remain unclear.

Methods: We identified and quantitatively analyzed Pfirrmann Grade II (n=3) and Pfirrmann Grade IV (n=3) pulposus samples via MRI. The differential abundance of proteins in the samples was determined and quantitatively analyzed by relative and absolute quantitative analysis of the isotope marker levels combined with the liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC‒MSMS/MS).

Objective: Cross-sectional and cohort studies have found insufficient evidence of a causal relationship between sex hormone-binding globulin and ischemic stroke, only associations. Here, we performed a sex-stratified, bidirectional, two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis to evaluate whether a causal relationship exists between sex hormone-binding globulin and ischemic stroke.

Methods: Single-nucleotide polymorphisms associated with sex hormone-binding globulin and ischemic stroke were screened from genome-wide association studies summary data as instrumental variables to enable a bidirectional, two-sample Mendelian randomization study design.

Cannabis glandular trichomes (GTs) are economically and biotechnologically important structures that have a remarkable morphology and capacity to produce, store, and secrete diverse classes of secondary metabolites. However, our understanding of the developmental changes and the underlying molecular processes involved in cannabis GT development is limited. In this study, we developed Cannabis Glandular Trichome Detection Model (CGTDM), a deep learning-based model capable of differentiating and quantifying three types of cannabis GTs with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.

Background: Hypertension-induced impairment of the cerebral artery network contributes to cognitive impairment. Characterizing the structure and function of cerebral arteries may facilitate the understanding of hypertension-related pathological mechanisms and lead to the development of new indicators for cognitive impairment.

Purpose: To investigate the associations between morphological features of the intracranial arteries distal to the circle of Willis on time-of-flight MRA (TOF-MRA) and cognitive performance in a hypertensive cohort.

In order to combat the impact of the dead zone and reduce vibration of the space robot's elastic base and flexible links, the trajectory tracking and vibration suppression of a multi-flexible-link free-floating space robot system are addressed. First, the elastic connection between the base and the link is considered as a linear spring. Then the assumed mode approach is used to derive the dynamic model of the flexible system.

Sepsis often causes organ dysfunction and is manifested in increased endothelial cell permeability in blood vessels. Early-stage inflammation is accompanied by metabolic changes, but it is unclear how the metabolic alterations in the endothelial cells following lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation affect endothelial cell function. In this study, the effects of 1 μg/ml of LPS on the metabolism of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) were investigated, and the metabolic changes after LPS stimulation were explained from the perspective of mRNA expression, chromatin openness and metabolic flux.
