Tire wear particles (TWP) are emerging contaminants in the soil environment due to their widespread occurrence and potential threat to soil health. However, their impacts on soil biogeochemical processes remain unclear. Here, we investigated the effects of TWP at various doses and their leachate on soil respiration and denitrification using a robotized continuous-flow incubation system in upland soil.

While numerous studies have investigated the impact of fertilization practices on DOM content along soil profiles, variations in DOM chemodiversity and the underlying factors across soil profiles under long-term fertilization regimes remain unclear. Using Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR MS) and high-throughput sequencing, this study investigated DOM composition characteristics and microbial community compositions across different soil layers (0-20, 20-40, 40-60, and 60-100 cm) in paddy soil under different long-term fertilization treatments, including Control (no fertilizer), NPK (mineral NPK fertilizer), NPKHS (NPK fertilizer with half straw return), and NPKS (NPK fertilizer with full straw return).

And the risk would increase significantly following in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVFET). Worse still, TB in this stage is apt to develop into severe forms in women and neonates, such as disseminated TB or tuberculous meningitis (TBM).

However, there is currently no agreement on the optimal induction method for this specific population. This study aims to evaluate the safety of a single balloon catheter (BC) in comparison to dinoprostone for labor induction in term pregnant women with group B Streptococcus colonization.

Because of the complexity and multiplicity of material, social and cognitive factors involved, both empirical and theoretical work tends to focus only on some snippets of the puzzle. Recently, a mathematical theory has been proposed that integrates material, social and cognitive aspects of behaviour and beliefs dynamics to explain how people make decisions in social dilemmas within heterogeneous groups.

Clinical data have demonstrated that electroacupuncture (EA) stimulation may benefit motor symptoms in PD without adverse effects. However, the specific effects of EA on PD and the underlying mechanisms remain largely unclear.

Walking pace (WP) and hand grip strength (HGS) are key indicators, their direct connection to COPD hospitalization is uncertain.
Objective: To investigate the relationship between genetic determinants of walking pace, hand grip strength, and the risk of COPD hospitalization as well as lung function.
Cobalt-nitrogen-carbon (CoNC) materials are regarded as promising low-cost electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR). However, their susceptibility to deactivation and poor stability in acidic media limits their practical applications. In this study, we develop cobalt (Co) and manganese (Mn) embedded in nitrogen-doped carbon (CoMnNC) dual-site catalysts by incorporating Mn into CoNC and leverage a synergistic dual-catalysis strategy to optimize both activity and stability.

Previous studies revealed that several miRNAs exhibited the capacity for diagnosis and prognosis of AMI, the reasons why these circulating miRNAs are concerned as targets for investigation are quite cryptogenic, presumably due to the lack of clues provided by global surveillance at the transcriptome level, and the current data for some miRNAs are controversial and inconsistent among independent studies.
Methods: To comprehensively profiling the potential miRNAs for diagnosis and prognosis of AMI, we reported transcriptomes of circulating miRNAs in the plasma of 27 healthy controls, 64 AMI patients (37 STEMI and 27 NSTEMI) and 20 AMI patients who were subjected to reperfusion therapy.

Drug resistance is vital for the poor prognosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) patients, but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. Given the unique microenvironment of bone marrow, we reasoned that drug resistance of AML might rely on distinct metabolic processes. Here, we identify succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) deficiency and over-cumulative succinate as typical features in AML, with a marked function in causing the resistance of AML cells to various anti-cancer therapies.

Background: For patients with de novo stage IV breast cancer (BC), the conditions under which the primary tumor resection (PTR) may offer benefit remain unclear.
Methods: The SEER database provides treatment data for patients with de novo stage IV BC. We screened cases of metastatic BC diagnosed from 2010 to 2015, with primary endpoints of overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS).
The protein kinase PKMYT1 is responsible for inhibitory CDK1 phosphorylation, thus playing a central role in regulating the G2/M cell cycle checkpoint. As many cancers have dysfunctional cell cycle checkpoint signaling, PKMYT1 inhibition is emerging as an attractive target in advanced tumors. PKMYT1 inhibitors, however, have encountered difficulties in balancing biological efficacy, on-target specificity, and favorable stability and other drug-like properties.

Methods: Clinical data of patients with NTM lung disease and pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) treated at Qingdao Chest Hospital from July 2021 to July 2023 were retrospectively analyzed.
Results: The prevalence of NTM lung disease was 8.
Purpose: Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is a critical stage in tuberculosis (TB)control, and few studies have addressed the role of vitamin D receptor(VDR) gene polymorphisms in differentiating between TB and late-onset TB from an immunogenetic perspective.
Patients And Methods: Recruitment of tuberculosis patients and latently infected population in Urumqi, Xinjiang, and use of propensity score matching(PSM) to match the two groups and control confounding to further construct a Bayesian network to analyze causal associations between VDR polymorphisms and tuberculosis disease status.
Results: 137 LTBI and 237 TB were obtained through PSM.
Biomass energy recovery from sewage sludge through anaerobic treatment is vital for environmental sustainability and a circular economy. However, large amounts of pharmaceutical and personal care products (PPCPs) remain in sludge, and their interactions with microbes and enzymes would affect resource recovery. This article reviews the effects and mechanisms of PPCPs on anaerobic sludge treatment.

The carbon emission trading scheme (ETS), a market-based environmental regulation, is critical for in combating climate change in China. According to the Porter effect, ETS can promote green innovation, while the specific impact of carbon price on a company's green innovation, and the role of price signals, remain unclear. This study examines the impact of carbon price on green innovation, utilizing a dataset of A-share listed companies spanning from 2010 to 2020.

Similarly, lipid remodeling also plays a role in regulating cell fate. Here, we present comprehensive lipidomics analysis during BMP4-driven primed to naive pluripotency transition or BiPNT and demonstrate that lipid remodeling plays an essential role.
