Background: Palliative care is becoming more widely acknowledged as a crucial part of intensive care for all patients with life-threatening illnesses. Intensive care unit (ICU) nurses regard as a lead role to facilitate this integration, which require nurses to possess professional and comprehensive core competencies. However, there is little knowledge about the palliative care core competencies among ICU nurses.

Background: The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of diacylglycerol (DAG) edible oil intervention in patients with chronic metabolic syndrome complicated by asymptomatic hyperuricemia through a multicenter, prospective, double-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial.

Methods: A multicenter, double-blind, and randomized controlled trial involving 176 patients was designed. All patients with chronic metabolic syndrome complicated by asymptomatic hyperuricemia who meet inclusion and exclusion criteria will be included in the study and will be randomized to either group A or group B.

The level of serum bilirubin is associated with the incidence of lung cancer in both smokers and non-smokers, but the specific mechanism is unknown. Bilirubin nanoparticles (BRNPs) were synthesized to explore the effects on Treg/Th17 immunity and gut microbiota in Lewis Lung Carcinoma (LLC) mice, to provide insights for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma. 10 μg/mL BRNPs promoted apoptosis of A549, NCI-H1299 and LLC cells.

[Electroacupuncture preconditioning alleviates podocyte injury via PTEN/PI3K pathway in type 2 diabetes rats].

Objectives: To observe the effect of electroacupuncture (EA) preconditioning on podocytes and phosphatase and tension homologous protein (PTEN)/phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI3K) signaling pathway in rats with type 2 diabetic kidney injury, so as to explore its potential mechanisms.

Methods: Fifty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into control, model, EA, inhibitor, and sham EA groups, with 10 rats in each group. Diabetes model was established by high-fat and high-sugar diet and intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (40 mg/kg).

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the nutritional status of Chinese gynecologic cancer survivors with post-surgical lower limb lymphedema (LLL) by analyzing serum albumin levels and the prognostic nutritional index (PNI).

Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted at two Chinese medical centers. The cohort comprised 155 gynecologic cancer survivors who developed symptomatic unilateral LLL post-surgery, during the period from September 2021 to June 2024.

Methods: Health check-up participants who underwent 3 sequential health examinations during 2012-2016 and were followed up from 2017 to 2021 were enrolled and categorized into two subcohorts: (a) progression from normoglycaemia to prediabetes subcohort (n = 9373) and (b) progression from prediabetes to diabetes subcohort (n = 4563). Cumulative TyG (cumTyG) and TyG variability from Exams 1-3 were the exposures of interest in our study.

Methods: From a health screening database, participants who underwent at least 4 health examinations between 2012 and 2022 were recruited and categorized into two cohorts: (a) the NAFLD development cohort with no history of NAFLD prior to Exam 4 and (b) the NAFLD regression cohort with diagnosed NAFLD prior to Exam 4. The LE8 score was calculated from each component.

Patients receiving fine surgical nursing in addition to conventional enhanced recovery after surgery formed the intervention group A, while those receiving the conventional enhanced recovery after surgery care alone formed control group B.

Objective: The DEP domain-containing 1 (DEPDC1) gene is essential in the development and advancement of different types of cancer. This study is to examine the levels of DEPDC1 in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), and to determine its relationship with clinical results and immune response. CDC42 expression in bone marrow mononuclear cells was detected in 78 adult Ph ALL patients and 10 donors using real-time reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction.

This study aims to investigate how fermentation affects the ameliorative effect of bee pollen on the intestinal barrier dysfunction stimulated by interferon-γ and tumor necrosis factor (IFN-γ/TNF-α) cytokines. The results indicated that fermentation enhances the alleviating effect of bee pollen on intestinal barrier dysfunction (including elevated trans epithelial electrical resistance and decreased paracellular permeability).
