Designing nanomaterials with advanced functions and physical properties to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment has been an enormous challenge. In this work, we report the synthesis of magnetic gold nanowreaths (AuNWs) by combining wet-chemical synthesis with layer-by-layer self-assembly. Nanomedicines have achieved several breakthroughs in cancer treatment over the past decades; however, their potential immunotoxicities are ignored, which results in serious adverse effects and greatly reduces the potential in clinical translation. Herein, we innovatively develop a theranostic supramolecular polymer using β-cyclodextrin as the host and camptothecin (CPT) as the guest linked by a glutathione-cleavable disulfide bond. The supramolecular polymerization remarkably increases the solubility of CPT by a factor of 232 and effectively inhibits its lactone ring opening in physiological environment, which is favorable for intravenous formulation and maintenance of the therapeutic efficacy.

The approach of concurrent-to-synchronous chemoradiation has now been advanced by well-designed nanovesicles that permit X-ray irradiation-triggered instant drug release. The nanovesicles consist of Au nanoparticles tethered with irradiation labile linoleic acid hydroperoxide (LAHP) molecules and oxidation-responsive poly(propylene sulfide)-poly(ethylene glycol) (PPS-PEG) polymers, where DOX were loaded in the inner core of the vesicles (Au-LAHP-vDOX). Upon irradiation, the in situ formation of hydroxyl radicals from LAHP molecules triggers the internal oxidation of PPS from being hydrophobic to hydrophilic, leading to degradation of the vesicles and burst release of cargo drugs.

Methods: A total of 50 patients who were diagnosed with rectal cancer via biopsy underwent 3-T pretreatment diffusion-weighted imaging. Apparent diffusion coefficient features, including mean, 10th-90th percentile, Entropy and Entropy(H), derived from whole-lesion volumes were compared between pathologic T1-2 and T3 stages, perineural invasion (PNI) present and absent, lymphangiovascular invasion present and absent, and pathological N0 and N+ stage groups.

In this paper, we propose a novel matching based tracker by investigating the relationship between template matching and the recent popular correlation filter based trackers (CFTs). Compared to the correlation operation in CFTs, a sophisticated similarity metric termed mutual buddies similarity is proposed to exploit the relationship of multiple reciprocal nearest neighbors for target matching. By doing so, our tracker obtains powerful discriminative ability on distinguishing target and background as demonstrated by both empirical and theoretical analyses.
