Background: Tigecycline is regarded as a last-resort antimicrobial agent against multidrug resistance (MDR). However, resistance-nodulation-division efflux pump resistance genes, such as tmexCD3-toprJ3, that confer resistance to tigecycline have emerged.

Objectives: This study aimed to characterise the tmexCD3-toprJ3 gene cluster in Pseudomonas juntendi and Proteus terrae isolated from a pig farm.

Chlorantraniliprole (CAP), a representative bisamide insecticide, is widely used in rice fields around the world, posing potential toxicity risks to aquatic organisms. In this study, we examined the effects of exposure to CAP on growth and metabolic phenotype of zebrafish (Danio rerio) and oxidative stress and apoptosis in the liver of zebrafish (Danio rerio). First, we identified that CAP had a low bioaccumulation in zebrafish.

3D microfluidic devices have emerged as powerful platforms for analytical chemistry, biomedical sensors, and microscale fluid manipulation. 3D printing technology, owing to its structural fabrication flexibility, has drawn extensive attention in the field of 3D microfluidics fabrication. However, the collapse of suspended structures and residues of sacrificial materials greatly restrict the application of this technology, especially for extremely narrow channel fabrication.

As an ideal nanocarrier, mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) have the characteristics of high specific surface area, adjustable pore size, and good biocompatibility, which are excellent carriers for improving the stability and sustained-release performance of pesticides and improving the utilization rate of pesticides In this study, three kinds of particle size MSNs (100 nm, 200 nm, and 400 nm) were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis method, and then, the spirotetramat (Stm) was loaded into MSNs with different particle sizes by solvent volatilization method to prepare Stm nanoparticles with different particle sizes (Stm@MSNs). The results of Stm@MSNs characterization showed that the three particle sizes of MSNs were 112.5, 200.

The aim of this study was to establish predictive models based on the molecular profiles of endometrial lesions, which might help identify progestin-insensitive endometrial atypical hyperplasia (EAH) or endometrioid endometrial cancer (EEC) patients before progestin-based fertility-preserving treatment initiation. Endometrial lesions from progestin-sensitive (PS, = 7) and progestin-insensitive (PIS, = 7) patients were prospectively collected before progestin treatment and then analyzed by ATAC-Seq and RNA-Seq. Potential chromatin accessibility and expression profiles were compared between the PS and PIS groups.

African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a complex nucleocytoplasmic large DNA virus (NCLDV) that causes a lethal hemorrhagic disease that is currently threatening the global pig industry. ASFV structural protein p30 is a membrane phosphoprotein that suggests it may play a regulatory role, possibly in signal transduction. Despite its significance in internalization into host cells, the interaction between p30 and host proteins is relatively unknown.

Acute compartment syndrome (ACS) is an orthopedic emergency that commonly occurs after severe tibial plateau fracture. Fracture blisters form on the skin, and it was found in our previous study that when blisters form, the compartment pressure significantly decreases. However, the potential mechanism underlying this pressure decrease has not yet been elucidated.

High-performance flexible strain sensors with a low cost, simple structure, and large-scale fabrication methods have a high demand in soft robotics, wearable devices, and health monitoring. Here, a direct-ink-writing-based 3D printing method, which fabricates structural layers in an efficient, layered manner, was developed to fabricate a stretchable and flexible strain sensor composed of carbon black/silicone elastomer (CB/PDMS) composites as the strain-sensing elements and electrodes. As the sensing element, the CB/PDMS composite had a sensitivity of 5.

Introduction: With the widespread availability of portable electrocardiogram (ECG) devices, there will be a surge in ECG diagnoses. Traditional computer-aided diagnosis of arrhythmia mainly relies on the rules of medical knowledge, which are insufficient due to the limitations of data quality and human expert knowledge. The research of arrhythmia detection methods based on artificial intelligence (AI) techniques can assist physicians in high-precision arrhythmia diagnosis.

Head and neck surgery is a fine surgical procedure with a complex anatomical space, difficult operation and high risk. Medical image computing (MIC) that enables accurate and reliable preoperative planning is often needed to reduce the operational difficulty of surgery and to improve patient survival. At present, artificial intelligence, especially deep learning, has become an intense focus of research in MIC.

HPS_06257 has been identified as an important protective antigen against infection. However, little is known about the role of HPS_06257 in the protective immune response. A whole-genome data analysis showed that among 18 isolates of , 11 were positive for the gene, suggesting that not every strain contains this gene.

Over the past few decades, pesticides have been used in large quantities, and they pose potential risks to organisms across various environments. Reducing the use of pesticides and their environmental risks has been an active research focus and difficult issue worldwide. As a class of pesticides with special structures, chiral pesticides generally exhibit enantioselectivity differences in biological activity, ecotoxicity, and environmental behavior.

Fufang Zhenshu Tiaozhi (FTZ) has been widely used in clinical practice and proven to be effective against aging-induced osteoporosis in mice. This study aimed to explore the mechanism of FTZ against osteoclastogenesis and ovariectomized-induced (OVX) bone loss through the network pharmacology approach. The ingredients of FTZ were collected from the previous UPLC results, and their putative targets were obtained through multiple databases.

Background: Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) mediated pathway plays a pivotal role in promoting tubulointerstitial inflammation and contributes to the progression in type 2 diabetic kidney disease (T2DKD). As the first identified key pyroptosis executor, gasdermin D (GSDMD) is activated by caspases and might be the key protein to switch apoptosis to pyroptosis. It remains unclear that role of TLR4 on canonical pyroptosis pathway, and whether GSDMD is involved in switching from apoptosis to pyroptosis in the TLR4-related tubular injury in T2DKD.

Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), the mainstream treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is a method of blocking tumor blood vessels with a mixture of lipiodol and chemotherapeutics. And the contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) is the commonly used way for follow-up of HCC after TACE. However, it is noteworthy that when lipiodol deposition plays an embolic effect, it also produces high-density artifacts in CT images.

Multiple cortical areas including the primary somatosensory cortex (S1) are activated during itch signal processing, yet cortical representation of itch perception remains unknown. Using novel miniature two-photon microscopic imaging in free-moving mice, we investigated the coding of itch perception in S1. We found that pharmacological inactivation of S1 abolished itch-induced scratching behavior, and the itch-induced scratching behavior could be well predicted by the activity of a fraction of layer 2/3 pyramidal neurons, suggesting that a subpopulation of S1 pyramidal neurons encoded itch perception, as indicated by immediate subsequent scratching behaviors.
