Airway inflammation plays a key role in the pathogenesis and development of asthma. Stanniocalcin-1 (STC-1) has powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic functions but its impact on the airway inflammation in asthma lacks evidence. Here, we investigated the effect and potential mechanism of STC-1 on airway inflammation through asthmatic mice model and lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated BEAS-2B cells.

We aimed to examine the association between an inflammatory diet index and depression utilising extensive data from UK biobank cohort. The energy-adjusted dietary inflammation index (E-DII) was calculated to quantify the potential of daily diet, with twenty-seven food parameters utilised.

We investigated fasting hypertriglyceridemia as predictors of all-cause, cardiovascular, and non-cardiovascular mortality in an elderly male Chinese population, while accounting for various conventional cardiovascular risk factors. Our participants were elderly men recruited from residents living in a suburban town of Shanghai (≥60 years of age, n = 1583). Hypertriglyceridemia was defined as a fasting serum triglycerides concentration ≥1.

By constructing a nomogram model, the risk of adverse outcomes can be displayed intuitively and individually, which has important clinical implications for medical diagnosis.
Objective: To develop and evaluate models for predicting patients with adverse outcomes of trauma that can be used in different data availability settings in China.
To study and compare the morphology of the phellinoid Agaricomycetes strains and find other strategies to improve Phellinus spp. growth and metabolism. In this study, the morphological characteristics of four Phellinus igniarius strains (phellinoid Agaricomycetes) were observed under a light microscope.

Methods: The elderly (≥ 65 years) participants for this study were recruited from two community health centers in the urban area of Shanghai. A questionnaire was administered to collect information on dietary oil consumption (low, medium and high) and cooking styles (fry or stir-fry others) and the composition of fatty acids (poly-unsaturated mono-unsaturated).
The rapid growth of urban instant delivery, facilitated by digital platforms and characterized by on-demand, short-term, task-based labor, has raised concerns about safety, particularly with the increasing frequency of instant delivery crashes (IDCs). This study addresses knowledge gaps in understanding injury patterns and risk factors associated with IDCs. Utilizing data extracted from judicial verdicts on IDC disputes in China, encompassing demographic, contextual, crash, and injury information, the research employs ordered logit regression to identify significant factors affecting injury patterns, the number of injuries per person (IPP), and injury severity.

The investigation involves a comprehensive analysis of mRNA expression and prognostic implications associated with distinct SIRTs in HCC.
Patients And Methods: Initial data pertaining to SIRT expression in HCC patients were collated from publicly accessible databases.
Augmented Reality technology enables users to interact with virtual imagines and the real world. The emergence of AR has propelled the development of the next generation of optical devices towards miniaturization, lightweight design, and enhanced light field manipulation capabilities. However, current AR glass still suffer from shortcomings of low efficiency.

Although GYY4137 is a novel and slow-releasing hydrogen sulfide (HS) donor with potent anti-inflammatory properties that may modulate the progression of OA, its underlying mechanism remains unclear.
Objectives: In this study, we validated the protective role of GYY4137 against OA pathological courses and elucidated its underlying regulatory mechanisms.
The combination of higher-order topological insulators and valley photonic crystals has recently aroused extensive attentions due to the great potential in flexible and efficient optical field manipulations. Here, we computationally propose a photonic device for the 1550 nm communication band, in which the topologically protected electromagnetic modes with high quality can be selectively triggered and modulated on demand. Through introducing two valley photonic crystal units without any structural alteration, we successfully achieve multi-dimensional coupled topological states thanks to the diverse electromagnetic characteristics of two valley edge states.

Here, we aimed to develop a predictor for the early detection of seizure recurrence with ESES in children with IFE using resting state electroencephalogram (EEG) data.
Methods: The study group included 15 IFE patients who developed seizure recurrence with ESES.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by SARS-CoV-2, have profoundly affected human health. Booster COVID-19 vaccines have demonstrated significant efficacy in reducing infection and severe cases. However, the effects of booster COVID-19 vaccines on key immune cell subsets and their responses in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are not well understood.

Methods: This was a post hoc analysis of a prospective randomized trial (Direct intraarterial thrombectomy in order to revascularize AIS patients with large-vessel occlusion efficiently in Chinese tertiary hospitals: a multicenter randomized clinical trial). Patients with AIS who completed EVT were evaluated for the occurrence of PSP during the hospitalization period and their modified Rankin Scale (mRS) scores at 90 days after AIS.
Macrophages are abundant immune cells in the microenvironment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Macrophage estimation by immunohistochemistry shows varying prognostic significance across studies in DLBCL, and does not provide a comprehensive analysis of macrophage subtypes. Here, using digital spatial profiling with whole transcriptome analysis of CD68+ cells, we characterize macrophages in distinct spatial niches of reactive lymphoid tissues (RLTs) and DLBCL.

This study constructs a high-fidelity simulated two-lane two-way road to develop a Transformer model that accurately recognizes LC intention. We propose a novel LC labelling algorithm combining vehicle dynamics and eye-tracking (VEL) and compare it against traditional time window labelling (TWL).
