Water-stable organic radicals are promising photothermal conversion candidates for photothermal therapy (PTT). However, organic radicals are usually unstable in biological environments, which greatly hinders their wide application. Here, we have developed a chaotropic effect-based and photoinduced water-stable supramolecular radical (MB-2) for efficient antibacterial PTT.

Pt-based metal-organic cycles/cages (MOCs) have been employed as multifunctional antibacterial agents due to their superior Pt-related therapeutic efficiency, various functional subunits and specific geometries. However, how to rationally apply these nanoscale MOCs on the macroscale with controllable therapeutic output is still challenging.

However, their use in analyzing biological samples has been hindered by unstable responses, low signal enhancement, and growth inhibition in complex media. Here, we offered a solution by building a visual whole-cell biosensor for urinary mercury determination.

Effectively regulating the biotoxicity of this highly water-soluble cationic dye is challenging. Here, we present a novel strategy to reduce the biotoxicity of MG through the self-assembly of MG and the -dodecaborate cluster ([BH]) driven by the chaotropic effect.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are intrinsic risk and causative factors for severe COVID-19 comorbidities and death. The wide-spread infection and reinfection of SARS-CoV-2 variants and the long-COVID may become a new common threat to human health and propose unprecedented impact on the risk factors, pathophysiology, and pharmacology of many diseases including CVD for a long time.

Due to their advanced age and the presence of some primary diseases, both anesthesia and surgery are increasingly difficult in elderly patients with a femoral neck fractures. In fact, general anesthesia can easily induce complications such as cognitive dysfunction, which is not conducive to postoperative recovery.

Methods: The clinical data of 41 patients with femoral neck fracture who underwent internal fixation with cannulated screws from January 2019 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. According to different surgical methods, they were divided into Tianji robot group and traditional cannulated screw fixation group (traditional operation group).
Bacterial infection has emerged as a grievous threat to public health, and lots of antibacterial agents were developed to solve this issue. However, enhancing the antibacterial activity of antibacterial agents while reducing their side effects remains a challenge. Herein, a supramolecular antibacterial agent based on the host-guest interaction between cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) and chlorhexidine (CHX) was designed.

The overall survival (OS) rate of pediatric liver transplantation has significantly improved compared with that of 20 years ago, but it is still unsatisfactory. The anesthesia strategy of maintaining low central venous pressure (CVP) has shown a positive effect on prognosis in adult liver transplantation.

In this work, multifunctional chitin/ZnO composite hydrogels have been designed as an infected full-thickness skin wound-healing material. The hydrogels are fabricated by a facile one-pot strategy through the sequential addition of commercial ZnO powders into aqueous alkaline chitin solutions, crosslinking and regeneration.

Since these triarylmethyl radicals have an unpaired electron, their electron spins at the lowest excited state and ground state are both doublets, and the transition from the lowest excited state to the ground state does not pose the problem of a spin-forbidden reaction. When used as OLED layers, these triarylmethyl radicals exhibit unique light-emitting properties, which can increase the theoretical upper limit of the OLED's internal quantum efficiency (IQE) to 100%.

Black aspergilli are distributed worldwide and represent one of the most prolific sources of metabolites with biomedical and agrochemical interests. However, due to their similar morphological characteristics and insufficient molecular identification, the taxonomic classification of black aspergilli remains ill-defined. The production of specialised metabolites is often unique for species among black aspergilli and could be used as diagnostic chemical markers for species identification.
