[Clinicopathologic features of calcifying fibrous tumor with reappraisal of its histogenesis].

Objective: To study the clinicopathologic features and histogenesis of calcifying fibrous tumor (CFT).

Methods: The clinical manifestations, histopathologic characteristics and immunophenotype were analyzed in 11 cases of CFT.

Results: The male-to-female ratio was 5:6, with a mean age of 38 years and age range of 25 to 52 years.

[Kinetics model for batch culture of white rot fungus].

In order to understand ligninolytic enzymes production process during culture of white rot fungus, accordingly to direct the design of fermentation process, a kinetics model was built for the batch culture of Phanerochaete chrysosporium. The parameters in the model were calibrated based on the experimental data from free and immobilized culture separately. The difference between each variable's values calculated based on kinetics model and experimental data is within 15%.

[Influence of glucose-insulin-potassium on the levels of inflammatory cytokines and prognosis of MODS in the scalded rats].

Objective: To evaluate the influence of glucose-insulin-potassium treatment (GIK) on the levels of inflammatory cytokines in the scalded rats with MODS.

Methods: One hundred and twenty Sprague Dawley rats were inflicted with 30% TBSA full-thickness scalding, and MODS model was reproduced with intraperitoneal injection of endotoxin following burn injury. Then the rats were randomly divided into GIK, glucose (G) and control (C) groups, with 40 rats in each group.
