Breastfeeding by mothers with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has been shown to reduce maternal insulin demands and diminish the risks of diabetes in infants, leading to improved long-term health outcomes. Milk fat globule membrane (MFGM) proteins play a crucial role in influencing the immunity and cognitive development of infants. Understanding the alterations in MFGM proteins in breast milk from mothers with GDM is essential for enhancing their self-efficacy and increase breastfeeding rates.

Case Summary: This patient presented to our hospital with a 3-mo history of dysphagia and regurgitation.
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathological and prognostic significance of intestinal metaplasia (IM) in endoscopically resected early gastric carcinoma (EGC).
Methods: Altogether 136 consecutive cases with EGC resected by endoscopic submucosal dissection over 5 years were included and divided into the early gastric cardiac (EGCC; n = 60) and non-cardiac carcinoma (EGNCC; n = 76) groups. Goblet cell IM and subtypes were determined with histology and immunostaining.
To investigate the effect of adipose-derived stem cells (ASCs) transplantation on radiation-induced lung injury (RILI), Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) group, ASCs group, Radiation + PBS group, and Radiation + ASCs group. Radiation + PBS and Radiation + ASCs groups received single dose of 30 Gy X-ray radiation to the right chest. The Radiation + PBS group received 1 mL PBS suspension and Radiation + ASCs group received 1 mL PBS suspension containing 1 × 10 CM-Dil-labeled ASCs.

Background And Aims: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a multisystem disease closely linked to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This study aims to investigate the connection between early-stage NAFLD and atherosclerosis, as well as the correlation between liver fibrosis and coronary heart disease while exploring underlying inflammatory mechanisms.
Methods: In this retrospective study, the authors analyzed data from 607 patients who underwent both coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and abdominal ultrasonography (US).
Studying the localized electrocatalytic activity of heterogeneous electrocatalysts is crucial for understanding electrocatalytic reactions and further improving their performance. However, correlating the electrocatalytic activity with the microscopic structure of two-dimensional (2D) electrocatalysts remains a great challenge due to the lack of in situ imaging techniques and methods of tuning structures with atomic precision. Here, we present a general method of probing the layer-dependent electrocatalytic activity of 2D materials in situ using a plasmonic imaging technique.

The male accessory gland of Drosophila is the organ that produces semen, and its main cells are binucleate. Here we observe that CTP synthase (CTPS) forms filamentous cytoophidia in binuclear main cells, primarily located at the cell boundary.

The bromodomain and extra-terminal (BET) family proteins play a key role in regulating oncogene expression and are considered attractive therapeutic targets for cancer therapy. Considering the therapeutic potential of BET proteins in cancer and the marked attractiveness of PROTACs, BET-targeting PROTACs have been extensively pursued.

Understanding the dissolution processes of nanoparticles is important to predict their fate in the aquatic environment. However, studying nanoparticle dissolution kinetics is still challenging since dissolution is usually coupled with nanoparticle aggregation.

This study investigated the effects of stocking density on ovarian development, ovarian maturation, and the mRNA expression of key genes in the reproductive axis during the rearing period of Shan-ma ducks. The experiments involved 180 healthy 7-wk-old Shan-ma ducks and randomly divided into low stocking density (LSD; n = 30, density = 5 birds/m), medium stocking density (MSD; n = 60, density = 10 birds/m) and high stocking density groups (HSD; n = 90, density = 15 birds/m), for rearing.

The aberrant activity of PRC2 is closely involved in tumorigenesis and progression, making its inhibition a viable strategy for epigenetic cancer therapy. Although the clinical development of small PRC2 inhibitors has made impressive progress, with one EZH2 inhibitor approved for cancer therapy and several other candidates in clinical trials, current EZH2 inhibitors are limited to treating certain hematological malignancies and have acquired drug resistance.

The treatment and recycling of PVC waste is still challenging, due to its non-biodegradability, low thermal stability, high Cl content and low product value. In this study, a one-pot method was developed to upcycle PVC into valuable carbon materials, pipeline-quality pyrolysis gas and chlorides.

Background: The incidence and mortality of hyperlipidemia are increasing year by year, showing a younger trend. At present, the treatment of hyperlipidemia is mainly dependent on western medicine, but its side effects on liver and kidney function are common in clinics. Therefore, it is necessary to study the treatment of hyperlipidemia by augmenting effective dietary nutrition supplements.

Methods: Twenty lung adenocarcinomas with MLCs were collected, and computed tomographic and histological documents were reviewed.
The explosive growth of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) wastes has brought serious pollution to the environment. Here, PET waste was upcycled into methane-rich pyrolysis gas and carbon material for energy storage through autogenic pressure pyrolysis and post-activation. The pyrolysis gas contained 34.

While the incidence of residual or recurrent after conventional EMR is remarkably high. Underwater endoscopic mucosal resection (UEMR) as an alternative technique to conventional EMR for removing colorectal polyps has high adenoma detection and complete resection rates, improves patient comfort, decreases sedation needs, eliminates the risks associated with submucosal injection, and reduces snare and diathermy-induced mucosal injury.

Moxibustion, arose from Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), has been widely applied in the treatment of abdominal obesity. Several studies have shown the positive effects of moxibustion in prevention and treatment of endocrine issues and excess body weight.

Hainan Province, China reported 168 coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), including 112 imported cases on February 19, 2020, but successfully contained the epidemic within 1 month. We described the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of COVID-19 in Hainan and compared these features between imported and local cases to provide information for other international epidemic areas.

Here, we demonstrated a plasmonic imaging technique that can track unlabeled nanoparticles at the solution-solid interface with high spatial and temporal resolutions. This technique is based on particle-induced interferometric scattering of a surface plasmonic wave, which results in a high vertical sensitivity.
