Aim: To evaluate the long-term effects of pattern scan laser (PASCAL) pan-retinal photocoagulation (PRP) on diabetic retinopathy (DR) in Chinese patients.

Methods: In this retrospective study, we evaluated clinical data of 29 patients (53 eyes) with severe non-proliferative DR (SNPDR) or proliferative DR (PDR) who received PRP and follow-up at our hospital from 2008 to 2013. Sixteen patients (29 eyes) received PASCAL PRP and 13 patients (24 eyes) received 100-ms conventional laser PRP.

Objective: To investigate the ocular blood-aqueous barrier (BAB) alteration after laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) or surgery peripheral iridectomy (SPI) in patients with primary chronic angle-closure glaucoma (PCACG).

Objective: To study the clinical effect of photodynamic therapy (PDT) with Visudyne for polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV).

Methods: Ten patients (10 eyes) with PCV who were diagnosed by fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), indocyanine green angiography (ICGA), optic coherence tomography (OCT) were treated by PDT with Visudyne. Eight cases (8 eyes) were male, the other two cases (2 eyes) were female.

In this article, a good-quality crystal Yb:YAG was grown by pull method, and its absorption spectrum of 200-3000 nm was measured at room temperature. Its absorption of 200-300 nm is from the host YAG, and there exists only the characteristic absorption of Yb3+ in the range of 390-3000 nm. Judd-Ofelt theory computation indicates that the absorption and emission oscillator strengths of electric dipole of (24 at%) Yb:YAG are 3.
