According to the diagnostic criteria for human herpesvirus 8 (HHV-8)-negative/idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) proposed by Castleman Disease Collaborative Network in 2017, there is a group of HHV-8-negative patients with multicentric Castleman disease (MCD) who do not have symptoms and hyperinflammatory state and do not meet the iMCD criteria. This retrospective study enrolled 114 such patients, described as asymptomatic MCD (aMCD), from 26 Chinese centers from 2000 to 2021. With a median follow-up time of 46.

Targeting different types of macrophages has shown potent therapeutic effects in many diseases. Although many approaches are developed to target anti-inflammatory macrophages, there are few researches on targeting pro-inflammatory macrophages, which is partially attributed to their non-s pecificity phagocytosis of extracellular substances.

Knowledge of CD mainly comes from case series or retrospective studies, but the inclusion criteria of these studies vary because the Castleman Disease Collaborative Network (CDCN) diagnostic criteria for iMCD and UCD were not available until 2017 and 2020, respectively. Further, these criteria and guidelines have not been systematically evaluated.

However, AML with RARG rearrangement is insensitive to alltrans retinoic acid (ATRA) and arsenic trioxide (ATO) and carries a poor prognosis. We initiated a global cooperative study to define the clinicopathological features, genomic and transcriptomic landscape, and outcomes of AML with RARG rearrangements collected from 29 study groups/institutions worldwide.

Typical bioinspired micro-/nano-structures fabrication strategies, superhydrophobic surfaces with anti-icing properties, and photothermal surfaces with de-icing properties are summarized. At last, we discussed challenges and prospects in anti-icing/de-icing surfaces fabricated by femtosecond laser technologies.

Methods: A real-time transvaginal US-guided interstitial implant device was developed to assist in implant BT. Prior to implant brachytherapy, the size and location of the tumor in the pelvis and the interrelationship with adjacent organs were first assessed with intracavitary ultrasound.
T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) is an aggressive hematological malignancy of T cell progenitors, known to be a heterogeneous disease in pediatric and adult patients. Here we attempted to better understand the disease at the molecular level based on the transcriptomic landscape of 707 T-ALL patients (510 pediatric, 190 adult patients, and 7 with unknown age; 599 from published cohorts and 108 newly investigated). Leveraging the information of gene expression enabled us to identify 10 subtypes (G1–G10), including the previously undescribed one characterized by GATA3 mutations, with GATA3R276Q capable of affecting lymphocyte development in zebrafish.

Methods: A total of 285 married female patients were screened and divided into three groups according to the results of the pathological examination and the cervical ThinPrep cytologic test: 1) the CC group (n = 94); 2) the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) group (n = 91); and 3) the normal control group (n = 100). The maximum Young's modulus (Emax), mean Young's modulus (Emean), minimum Young's modulus (Emin), and Young's modulus stability (Esd) in each group were measured and statistically analyzed.
Lung adenocarcinoma is one of the most common solid tumors, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common histological subtype of adult non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Although extra-nodular lesions are frequently observed in patients with DLBCL, urinary bladder involvement is rare. We report the case of a 77-year-old woman with lung adenocarcinoma who was diagnosed with a second primary bladder DLBCL, 9 months after treatment with molecular targeted drugs.

Paraneoplastic autoimmune and inflammatory disorders are often associated with myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). The etiopathogenesis of MDS-associated autoimmune and inflammatory disorders is still unclear and treatment options are limited. Patients with MDS are at high risk of infections, which can be increased by the use of steroids.

Methods: A total of 140 female patients with endometrial lesions, confirmed by pathological results, were divided into three groups: 45 cases of endometrial polyps, 29 cases of endometrial hyperplasia and 66 cases of endometrial cancer. A total of 100 cases of normal endometrium were used as the control group, including 52 cases in the proliferative stage and 48 cases in the secretory stage.

The metal cations, Al and Mg, could affect human health and cell biological processes. Their fast and selective detection using one probe remains a challenge. A novel fluorescence probe, N'-((1-hydroxynaphthalen-2-yl)methylene)isoquinoline-3-carbohydrazide (NHMI), was developed for selectively monitoring Al and Mg.

Here, we evaluated whether chemotherapy could be replaced or reduced by ATO in APL patients at different risks. After achieving complete remission with ATRA-ATO-based induction therapy, patients were randomized (1:1) into ATO and non-ATO groups for consolidation: ATRA-ATO versus ATRA-anthracycline for low-/intermediate-risk patients, or ATRA-ATO-anthracycline versus ATRA-anthracycline-cytarabine for high-risk patients.

However, current treatment strategies do not achieve satisfactory outcomes in the clinic. To explore a new strategy to enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy in liver cancer, we investigated whether dichloroacetate (DCA) could enhance the sensitivity of liver cancer cells to pirarubicin (THP).

A new acylhydrazine-derived Schiff base fluorescence probe DMI based on "ON-OFF-ON" fluorescence strategy was presented in this paper. Probe DMI could detect Cu selectively and sensitively with dramatic fluorescence quenching in CHOH-PBS (v/v = 3:7) mixed solution. Once the complex DMI-Cu interacted with S, 10.

Herein, we report a novel hydrazide Schiff base fluorescent probe N'-((7-(diethylamino)-2-oxo-2H-chromen-3-yl)methylene)pyrazine-2-carbohydrazide (NPC), which self-assembled into nanoparticles in aqueous solution. Based on disassembly-induced emission and the site-specific recognition mechanism, the binding of NPC with HSA resulted in a fluorescence "turn-on" response.

Objective: To analyze the results of immunophenotyping in patients with acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) so as to improve the understanding of early T-cell precursor acute T-lymphoblastic leukemia (ETP-ALL) and near ETP-ALL with elevated CD5.
Methods: The results of immunophenotypes in 62 patients with newly diagnosed adult T-ALL in our hospital were retrospectively analyzed. According to the expression of CD5, CD1a, CD8 and My/S antigens, the patients were divided into 3 groups: ETP, near ETP and non-ETP.

The porcine cardiac blood processed Salvia miltiorrhiza (PCB Danshen) is the characteristic processing of Menghe medical school and has been inherited for hundreds of years, commonly used in the treatment of brain ischemia-induced agitation, palpitation and phlegm confusing heart. Ancient and modern physicians believe that porcine cardiac blood is a guiding for heart nourishing drugs, which could enhance the effects of Salvia miltiorrhiza by nourishing and soothing the nerves. However, the material basis and processing mechanism of PCB Danshen are still unclear.
