The exploration of chemical space holds promise for developing influential chemical entities. Molecular representations, which reflect features of molecular structure in silico, assist in navigating chemical space appropriately. Unlike atom-level molecular representations, such as SMILES and atom graph, which can sometimes lead to confusing interpretations about chemical substructures, substructure-level molecular representations encode important substructures into molecular features; they not only provide more information for predicting molecular properties and drug‒drug interactions but also help to interpret the correlations between molecular properties and substructures.

In order to improve the oxidative desulfurization (ODS) performance of MOF materials, an effective way is to convert a microporous MOF into a hierarchical porous MOF (HP-MOF) by utilizing the linker selective retention strategy. Herein, UiO-66 with the introduction of an unstable linker ligand (dihydro-1,2,4,5-tetrazine-3,6-dicarboxylate, dhtz) can selectively remove dhtz ligands to form HP-MOF (HP-UiO-66-dhtz) through heat treatment at high temperature. While maintaining the original structure of UiO-66, HP-UiO-66-dhtz features mesopores and abundant Lewis acid sites, showing excellent ODS performance for diphenylthiophene (DBT).

Article Synopsis
  • Itch has both feelings and sensory parts that make each other worse, but scientists are still figuring out how the brain handles both.
  • A specific brain area called the anterior insular cortex (AIC) gets activated when something causes itching, and this can make us feel bad and intensify the itch.
  • The study shows that there is a path in the brain (AIC → dBNST) that connects the feeling of itch and the bad emotions it brings, helping us understand how the brain processes these sensations together.

Background: Anisopteromalus calandrae (Howard) is a solitary ectoparasitoid with wide-ranging potential applications as a natural biological control agent against various coleopterous pests in food warehouses. Implementing an effective cold storage program is crucial for extending the shelf life of biological control agents and ensuring their stable and abundant supply. Herein, we attempted to determine the optimal cold storage conditions for Anisopteromalus calandrae by investigating the effect of cold storage at three different temperatures (7, 13, and 19 °C) for 7, 21, and 35 days on four developmental stages (late-instar larvae, early-stage pupae, mid-stage pupae, and 2-day-old adults).

A reasonable definition of carbon emission responsibility and inter-provincial carbon compensation is an important approach to promote regional coordinated emission reduction. Here, based on the 2017 multi-regional input-output table, carbon emissions from provinces were decomposed by using the value-added trade decomposition method, the embodied carbon flows between provinces were measured, and a differentiated carbon compensation mechanism based on emission reduction cost was designed, which provides the reference for China to carry out horizontal carbon compensation. The main conclusions were as follows:①the carbon emissions caused by the final demand within the province accounted for 53.

Since the discovery of graphene in an atomic thin layer format, many investigations have been conducted to search for two-dimensional (2D) layered materials, in which 3d-transition metals offer much new physics and great freedom of tunability. In this work, through electron-beam irradiation, we enable the manufacture of a new 2D Ti nanosheet from a suspension of TiO nanosheets. In state-of-the-art density functional theory (DFT), both empirical and linear response theory predicted that Hubbard values would be imposed, resulting in unstable phonon dispersion curves.
