Iron ion (Fe) detection is crucial for human health since it plays a crucial role in many physiological activities. In this work, a novel Schiff-base functionalized cyanine derivative (CyPy) was synthesized, which was successfully assembled on the surface of upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) through an amphiphilic polymer encapsulation method. In the as-designed nanoprobe, CyPy, a recognizer of Fe, is served as energy donor and β-NaYF:Yb,Er upconversion nanoparticles are adopted as energy acceptor.

Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) has a high incidence and mortality. Recent studies have shown that indole derivatives involved in gut microbiota metabolism can impact the tumorigenesis, progression, and metastasis of CRC.
Aim: To investigate the effect of indole-3-acetaldehyde (IAAD) on CRC.
This article presents a new event-triggered adaptive finite-time control strategy using a fuzzy state observer for a class of nonlinear cyber-physical systems (CPSs) under malicious deception attacks with a more general form. Compared with the traditional assumptions on the deception attacks in the existing results, a more general assumption on deception attacks is given in this article. During the design process, real system states are initially estimated by developing an improved state observer, which effectively addresses the problem of state unavailability.

Purpose: The implementation of the universal two-child policy contributes to adverse pregnancy outcomes, but how the policy change leads to adverse pregnancy outcomes is not well elaborated. In this study, we aimed to compare maternal characteristics and complications, accessed the change in the proportion of maternal characteristics and maternal complications, and evaluated the mediation of maternal characteristics on maternal complications.
Methods: Demographic and clinical data of three-level sample facilities were extracted from China's National Maternity Near Miss Obstetrics Surveillance System from Jan 1, 2012 to May 31, 2021.
Background: The screening practices for hepatitis D virus (HDV) are diverse and non-standardized worldwide, and the exact prevalence of HDV is uncertain.
Aim: To estimate HDV prevalence and investigate viral marker quantity trends in patients with hepatitis D.
Methods: We collected 5594 serum samples from patients with hepatitis B in Jilin Province, China (3293 males and 2301 females, age range of 2 to 89 years).
Acceleration monitoring is an important technical means of seismic monitoring, oil exploration, deep well observation, etc. A miniaturized fiber Bragg grating (FBG) acceleration sensor with three cantilever beams is proposed against the fact that it is difficult for fiber-optic sensors to meet the requirements for low-frequency vibration monitoring. First, the model of the FBG acceleration sensor was built and theoretically analyzed; second, the effect of structural parameters on sensor sensitivity and natural frequency was analyzed, and the sensors were subjected to static stress analysis and modal simulation analysis through the ANSYS finite element analysis software; finally, the real sensors were developed and subjected to performance tests with a low-frequency vibration test system.

This study aimed to recognize the clinical and prognostic factors related to clinical laboratory examination and to construct a prognostic nomogram for BC bone metastasis.
Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 32 candidate indicators from clinical features and laboratory examination data of 276 BC patients with bone metastasis.
Despite highly effective vaccines, Marek's disease (MD) causes great economic loss to the poultry industry annually, largely due to the continuous emergence of new MD virus (MDV) strains. To explore the pathogenic characteristics of newly emerged MDV strains, we selected two strains (AH/1807 and DH/18) with clinically different pathotypes. We studied each strain's infection process and pathogenicity and observed differences in immunosuppression and vaccine resistance.
