In this study, we explored the impact of land-use changes on carbon sinks in terrestrial ecosystems from a watershed perspective under the backdrop of "carbon peak and neutrality." This will provide robust support for scientific decision-making and the sustainable development of integrated watershed management. Watershed ecosystems encompass natural, social, and economic dimensions and are crucial for improving regional ecological quality and ensuring sustainable development.

[Characteristics and Sources of DOM in Lake Sediments Under Different Inundation Environments].

The characteristics and sources of DOM in sediments are significantly affected by fluctuations in lake water levels. However, the impact of spatial differences on water levels remain unclear. Here, 36 sediment samples were collected from the flood passage and coastal beach of East Dongting Lake.

Effects of nutrition supplementation and physical exercise on muscle mass, muscle strength and fat mass among sarcopenic elderly: a randomized controlled trial.

This study aimed to determine the impact of nutrition supplementation (whey protein, fish oil, vitamin D) and physical exercise (resistance and aerobic exercise) on muscle mass, muscle strength and fat mass among sarcopenic elderly. Participants ( = 241) with sarcopenia (aged ≥ 60 y) enrolled from 2 centers were randomized into groups undergoing nutrition supplementation (Nutr), physical exercise (Ex), nutrition combined with exercise (Nutr+Ex), or routine consultation for 12 weeks. Muscle-related indicators, grip strength as well as fat-related indicators were compared pre- and post-intervention.
