Background: Veno-arterial (V-A) and veno-venous (V-V) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are crucial support modalities during lung transplantation, yet their comparative effectiveness remains unclear.
Methods: We conducted an 8-year retrospective analysis of 62 lung transplant recipients who received intraoperative ECMO (29 V-A, 33 V-V). Baseline characteristics, surgical parameters, and clinical outcomes were compared.
Background: Perioperative airway management and oxygenation maintenance during central airway obstruction (CAO) treatment pose great challenges. While veno-venous extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (V-V ECMO) shows promise as a bridge therapy, optimal implementation and management strategies remain lacking. We present our experience with V-V ECMO in CAO management from a high-volume center.

PCV3 capsid protein (Cap) can self-assemble into virus-like particles (VLPs), and is an ideal candidate for vaccines and diagnostic reagents. In this study, the recombinant PCV3 Cap protein was successfully expressed in E.

This trial proposes serial cardiac dose constraint to optimize cardiac safety. Postoperative BC patients eligible for anthracycline/taxanes-based chemotherapy or HER2-targeted therapy were randomized to cardiac safety arm with prespecified mean heart dose (MHD) (≤6 Gy), V30 (≤20%), and V10 (≤50%) constraints, or to a control arm with in-house protocol (mainly MHD ≤8 Gy).

Design: An integrated analysis of genes associated with metaplasia, dysplasia was conducted, verified and characterised in the gastric tissues of patients by single-cell RNA sequencing and immunostaining.

Twenty 3-acyloxymaltol/ethyl maltol derivatives ( and ) were synthesized and evaluated for their anti-oomycete activity against , respectively. Among all of twenty derivatives, more than half of the compounds , , and had anti-oomycete activity higher than the positive control zoxamide (EC = 22.23 mg/L), and the EC values of 18.

Their main active component, hypocrellin, is widely used in medicine, food, and cosmetics. By comparing strains with different hypocrellin yields, we identified a transcription factor () in the hypocrellin biosynthesis pathway.

Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are indispensable for cancer development; however, the regulation of cancer stem cell-like properties in gastric cancer (GC) and its specific mechanism remain poorly understood. We elucidate the specific role of Circ-0075305 in GC stem cell properties.

Mechanistic studies indicate that the reaction proceeds through radical and ionic pathways, and an alkenyl sulfide serves as a key intermediate.

Previously, we reported the primary outcomes and short-term secondary outcomes of a phase 3, open-label, randomized clinical trial (NCT03050879) investigating the use of ICG for image-guided lymphadenectomy in patients with potentially resectable GC. Patients were randomly (1:1 ratio) assigned to either the ICG or non-ICG group.

Gastric cancer stem cells (GCSCs) are self-renewing tumor cells that govern chemoresistance in gastric adenocarcinoma (GAC), whereas their regulatory mechanisms remain elusive. Here, the study aims to elucidate the role of ATOH1 in the maintenance of GCSCs. The preclinical model and GAC sample analysis indicate that ATOH1 deficiency is correlated with poor GAC prognosis and chemoresistance.

Host factors play a critical role in PRRSV replication. Using PRRSV as a model for genome-scale CRISPR knockout (KO) screening, we identified a host factor critical to PRRSV infection: sphingomyelin phosphodiesterase acid-like 3B (SMPDL3B).

Methods: Data were derived from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) conducted in 2015. Stratified sample households covered 150 counties/districts and 450 villages/urban communities from 28 provinces by using household questionnaires, clinical measurements, and blood-based bioassays.
We report herein the Pd-catalyzed selective ring-opening reaction of cyclopropenones with vinyl epoxides. By using a commercially available Pd(dba)·CHCl-BINAP catalyst, a wide range of conjugated alkadienyl carboxylates could be accessed in good yield and excellent regioselectivity. The new application of zwitterionic π-allyl palladium intermediates has been demonstrated in organic synthesis.

Control experiments demonstrate that (NH)SO acts as an acid and an oxidant, while both ionic and radical routes are involved in the reaction. The KIE experiments reveal that C-H bond cleavage of sulfoxides was involved in the turnover-limiting step.
