Background: Veno-arterial (V-A) and veno-venous (V-V) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are crucial support modalities during lung transplantation, yet their comparative effectiveness remains unclear.

Methods: We conducted an 8-year retrospective analysis of 62 lung transplant recipients who received intraoperative ECMO (29 V-A, 33 V-V). Baseline characteristics, surgical parameters, and clinical outcomes were compared.

Optimal cardiac dose constraints in breast cancer (BC) patients undergoing postoperative intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) are unclear, although as low as possible is recommended. This trial proposes serial cardiac dose constraint to optimize cardiac safety. Postoperative BC patients eligible for anthracycline/taxanes-based chemotherapy or HER2-targeted therapy were randomized to cardiac safety arm with prespecified mean heart dose (MHD) (≤6 Gy), V30 (≤20%), and V10 (≤50%) constraints, or to a control arm with in-house protocol (mainly MHD ≤8 Gy).

Stratified sample households covered 150 counties/districts and 450 villages/urban communities from 28 provinces by using household questionnaires, clinical measurements, and blood-based bioassays.

We report herein the Pd-catalyzed selective ring-opening reaction of cyclopropenones with vinyl epoxides. By using a commercially available Pd(dba)·CHCl-BINAP catalyst, a wide range of conjugated alkadienyl carboxylates could be accessed in good yield and excellent regioselectivity. The new application of zwitterionic π-allyl palladium intermediates has been demonstrated in organic synthesis.

Control experiments demonstrate that (NH)SO acts as an acid and an oxidant, while both ionic and radical routes are involved in the reaction. The KIE experiments reveal that C-H bond cleavage of sulfoxides was involved in the turnover-limiting step.
